Directly after watching any great fighter in a great performance you'll always get that impression of "Who could've beaten this guy?" or in that case "these guys". Happened with me just recently after watching Chavez vs Rosario, made me think about Chavez vs Duran a little more thoroughly, but ultimately, you start to calm down. I think Leonard has a decent chance of beating Robinson, about a 40% chance that is. I don't think Duran, on the other hand, has a great chance, though his in-fighting could well give Robinson trouble. So there's something to think about. Anyways, on to the fight. One of the best I've ever seen. Duran was winning handily, you could argue outclassing Leonard, for the first 10 rounds, when Leonard really started to come alive in the championship rounds. I had Duran up 7 rounds to 3 after 10, but Leonard took 3 out of the last 5, with two being even, for a one point Duran victory overall. Depending on how you scored the 11th and 13th rounds(I believe were the two I scored even), I wouldn't have a huge problem with anyone giving Leonard the slight edge, but I think for the majority of the fight, Duran showed his superiority, and deserved the close win, though Leonard fought like a warrior down the stretch.
the pace was so high, even bas rutten talked about it in the mma fight gomi vs pulver, he was like the pace is so high like duran when he fought hagler, but i can almost gaurentee he went leanord, he just got mixed up and said hagler
I do recall Bas saying something to that effect in that fight as well, he probably did mean Duran/Leonard, as the Duran/Hagler fight was more of a boxing match. Those were Gomi's good days, he, and most Pride fighters seems to have slowed down quite a bit.
