Just exactly what it says on the tin here.

Roberto Duran. Sugar Ray Leonard. Marvin Hagler.

Who was the most effective/impressive fighter h2h in their prime?

Please explain your choice, the more detailed the better :good

    Im gonna go for Leonard.
He was the best at changing his style to suit a particular opponent.

Duran & Hagler could both box & fight with the very best ever & are true ATGs in every sense of the word but Im not sure Ive ever seen anybody as comfortable as Ray Leonard using multiple different gameplans & styles.

His fights using a different approach in each vs the other greats... MMH, Duran, Hearns & Benitez prove this beyond doubt IMO.

Well IMO Duran, at lightweight, is the best boxing talent I have ever seen. That was his prime.

Leonard fought the better top end opposition and I can see an arguement for him because of this.

But Ill vote for Roberto simply because he "impressed" me the most.

Agree with Whatarock, Duran at lightweight was awesome. Brilliant and blistering. Underrated defence and footwork from him. Only man to beat a prime Ray Leonard and that was going up to welter. Was on a 40 fight unbeaten run between his first and second defeats. Quality opposition in Buchanan, De Jesus, Palomino, Hector Thompson and Viruet. An animal in the ring and the essence of a warrior. Exactly what I want to see in a boxer and in terms of the most effective in their prime... Duran was 71-1 when he fought Leonard for the first time. I'd say that was pretty efficient given he had gone up in weight already!

Yep i go with Duran, to have the ability to go up in WEIGHT take there best and show class at whatever level he fighted at.,

he faught hagler close to in/his prime and showed absolutle mastery in defence and offence, and was leading on scorecards going into the last 2 rounds. Only haglers legendary conditioning (and durans wild lifestyle) swinged it to hagler.

people dnt give a prime (when he was motivated and trained properly for a fight!!!) Duran credit

Duran was the greatest 135 pound fighter of all time to be sure. But since he and Hearns moved up in weight, I'm going to go with the Marvelous One, who was probably the second greatest middleweight ever and beat Duran, and in my opinion, Leonard as well.

I thought Leonard outboxed Hagler for just about the whole 1st half of their fight but Hagler`s 2nd half surge almost pulled him level, close fight but Leonard won fair & square IMO.

Leonard was the king of the fab 4 on a H2H basis & shoulder to shoulder with Roberto on a p4p basis IMHO.

I find it hard to seperate Prime Leonard at welterweight performances with Durans Lightweight performances so il sit on the fence with this one.

Leonard was more versatile for example in his first bout with earns he switched roles with Hearns and became the pressure /stalking fighter.
Duran in his prime at LW might be the best I've seen quite frankly.
Hagler was great with his ability to fight both righty and lefty, and he was one tough SOB.

Duran would be my #1 h2h at 135 for what that is worth.

Hagler would be top 3 or 4, but not #1

    Leonard would be #3 probably.

    So Duran.
