People get it wrong why SRL won the second fight! Simple Duran was the better fighter in the first fight. Srl and co knew duran was a party animal that blow up to 185 between fights. They made the second fight as quickly as possible ,Duran had to waste to make weight (who knows what he used) Cramps and No Mas.

Duran found a way to be out of shape when he fought every great fighter he fought in the 1980s. The theme was used so much in losses that they are obvious excuses. Benitez was known to not train during his boxing career, and he beat Duran easily at 154. Benitez said he trained well for Hearns, and Tommy still beat him, but not easily, the fight went 15.

Most definitely. Check out a young Hopkins. Ruthless on the inside.

Hopkins only started to box and fight smart around the time he fought echols. Before that he was about coming straight at you and stopping you. He said he started boxing more because there was no longevity in the other way.

I love duran, but the hopkins that fought tito would tear up most middleweights (not all so don't get butthurt), add to that the fact that hopkins has one of the best chins in the game and i don't see how duran could beat a hopkins who isn't green.

Considering the Duran who went 15 rounds with Hagler was far from the Montreal Duran, then it is a definite possibility.

Well, if he still had his old style, boxing would have retired him by now. Not really possible to be a fast moving, inside fighting bull, in his 40s. The patient style suits his physical capabilities more, now.

hopkins wins, but no way he knocks him out, duran is the original crafty/dirty fighter.

Duran's right hand was leathal ... Hopkins right hand is good but not that good ... If it's going 15 - Duran will win by KO ... if it goes 12 ... i'd call it a draw ... as crafty as Hopkins is I doubt he could avoid getting hit by Duran.

You think Duran's right hand can find Hopkins and have him hurt?

Iam a big b/hop fan but he's no Hagler. the Duran that fought Hagler would get the U/D. Duran has all the moves, he's a crafty ****er, B/hop just ai'nt got the tools to dominate this fight, no one has, not against a montreal duran.
