I actually think Duran would have matched up well with 147lbs Hearns. Don't kill me, P. He'd go for a poo before the fight started this time. Just sayin'.
Exactly, you're not underground enough, and therefore not cool. And on top of that you are a human centipede you degenerate gambling mess.
And if he for whatever reason forgets to empty his bowels, he can just claim the event, which almost seems better than winning these days.
I was really pissed off at the weight stipulation for his fight with Lalonde. That's why if anyone says to me that Leonard won the light heavy crown,my answer is always "No he f####ing did n't" :fire
Yeah they give you super sperm for 24 hours, it's soooooo much better these days. Ivan Calderon KO1 Joe Louis
I think that Duran was at his peak of 147lbs 71-1 record and had it all. Duran was never as fit again. I happen to know the inside scoop on the next fight. Duran went immediately into his normal Ruben Olivares party mode, Drinking and eating and girls but he also was hanging out at Victor's cafe in N.Y. a notorious hang out for latino drug (coke dealers) Dundee had his radar out and knew that an immediate rematch would be almost impossible for Duran so he insisted on a November rematch or they would fight Hearns.... Leonard was the American $$$$ and golden-boy and he really dictated...Dundee got his way and the rest was history... I feel that the hungry and hard Duran of fight one would have beaten Leonard despite his fight strategy...Same with Ali/Frazier...If Frazier could have maintained the FOTC conditioning Ali would be hard pressed to beat him....Duran and Frazier never really hit that conditioning at that 1st fight weight again
this is why, as great as leonard was, i will always have reservations about his record. he insisted on a rematch with duran and got what he wanted. but did hearns get his immediate rematch? did duran get a rematch after he'd lost? these guys had to wait till the end of the decade! i have less of an issue with the whole hagler thing. hagler was a middleweight after all.
They already fought, and Duran won. So Duran. The Leonard of Montreal was the Leonard of the rematch.
