It was a very close fight that could have gone either way. That is clear to all non-fanboys, I'd guess.

I don't think the fact that Duran would weigh more would mean that much (without checking I'd say that height and reach are pretty equal). Canelo was both bigger, faster and younger in his meet with Floyd. It's Duran's skill, toughness, experience and boxing brain that are the main threats to Floyd. But Floyd has plenty of that himself plus a huge speed advantage against this version of Roberto.

Mayweather would be just too quick at that stage of Duran's career.

I'd also give a big edge in punching power to Duran as well.

Over Mayweather? Yeah. Don't know about "big" since Duran was more of a precise puncher above 147 than a concussive one. But definitely an edge. But almost all of Floyd's opponents have that against him.

Personally I think both Canelo and Cotto would beat Barkley. They're both better technicians and better tactically, and Canelo is probably about as strong. He might actually really do a number on Barkley.

Well he almost dropped Barkley in the first round with a single punch, and did drop him in the 10th when he landed a 5-6 punch combo.

I don't see it myself, since Barkley had just beaten Hearns and I can't imagine either Canelo or Cotto doing that. Like Gil Clancey said, Barkley looked like a light heavyweight.

Jeff Lacy vs RJJ jumped out at me. I'd take Mayweather here, Duran may try to beat him at his own game for portions, trying to box with Floyd, rather than relentlessly pursue his opponent, which in my opinion is his best bet to win this one.

canelo would get beat up by barkley, as would natural cotto(worse). the current version of cotto might be able to do it because he has better stamina and more power than prime cotto did.

Barkley would more than likely beat both of them. I don`t think Cotto had the size or firepower to keep Barkley honest.

Completely agree re: Canelo.I could see him beating Barkley up and winning convincingly. Incidentally, I think that Canelo gets underrated in this forum and Barkley overrated (mostly by big Duran fans). Cotto maybe squeaks by with a hard earned decision but but I'm way less confident about that.

I'll put in a vote for Canelo beating Barkley. I'm not so sure about Cotto.
