well Pac never fought at 154 and he completely lost his focus on boxing and did other things with his life ....Hard to just throw 8 pounds on a guy and assume he is the same boxer, especially when he never has come close to 154... Yes Hearns KO's Pac and early.. total mismatch
I think Duran when he fought Hearns was a good fighter. I think Hearns was the problem. I think Duran would beat Manny at 154. Too strong.. Duran was not that small a fighter and he was bigger than Manny and could punch. Manny better not slug with Duran, because he might end up like he was with Marquez. Use speed and win the rounds.. Duran's Achilles at times was speed.
It wasn't that Duran was so bad, it was that Hearns was so dominating. I don't think I'd pick anyone at 154 over the Hearns of that fight. I'd pick Duran over Pac at any weight from 135 on up. And I'd pick Hearns over Pac by brutal KO.
I think Duran stops Margarito. I never saw the Duran/Hearns fight as an insult on Duran as much as proving how doniinant Hearns was and how fast. Duran fought a prime Tommy at Tommy's best weight probably. Duran would have loved fighting Margarito. It would have been one of his best fights. Any fighter who fights Duran in range of Duran's punches are in trouble. They have to use speed to keep him off balance and not in position to punch or land.
