PBF with his back to the ropes and Duran snarling and hair flying....not a very good picture for PBF at lightweight.

Duran DOA 1 PBF. (And El Cholo wouldn't have needed a ****ing pair of brass knuckles to make the Big Show pretend to be knocked out either. He'd have hit Wight in the nuts and crippled him for real!)

Duran tore through some of the best fighters ever. That business of holding and trying to tie him up as he did against Hatton in the first few rounds wouldn't work with Duran. PBF would fall to Duran.

    Roberto Duran by K.O.
IMO SRL is 100x the fighter Mayweather is/was/will ever be.
If Duran can defeat a fast skilled great beard Leonard, he would destory PBF.

Yeah but Leonard fought Duran's fight and was not forced to do so, but elected to do so. And still, it was a very close fight. When Leonard choose to box in the rematch, it was hardly competitive... and i'm not even refererring to Duran quitting, he simply couldn't get much work done and while his aggression could neutralise the speed difference the first time around, it couldn't when Leonard boxed.

Mayweather won't try to slug with Duran but try to outbox him. Whether he can do it for 15 rounds is a questionmark, but i like his chances much more than most of the "Duran decapitates him!" remarks here. I don't like Floyd at all, but he is a master boxer with blinding speed and skill and would give Duran loads of trouble.

The notion of "boxers" troubling Duran is an interesting view-tell that to the likes of Marcel & Buchanan. Or one can run, run, run, & run some more and "trouble" him like Bizarro, only to end up as a Top 5, Duran KO highlight clip(the Bizarro KO is rather brutal).

Usually(not always), the biggest obstacle he faced in boxing was ....."Rocky" himself.

And is PBF that much ABOVE Marcel as a slippery target? Hardly IMHO. We also need to look at the weight of this hypothetical matchup. Odd ending to that Marcel bout, btw.

While it's quite fathomable PBF troubling him, I have a hard time envisioning PBF mounting effective offense to score points "while he outboxes" Duran. Duran is hardly a sitting target.

The only similarities imo are that both CAN do similar things in the ring, the movement and good jab to the body being the most obvious ones. However, ii do believe that it is not the nature of either fighter to box with stylistic similarities in the ring, one is predominantly a defensive fighter, the other offensive. Both are very capable of adapting and ar multi-dimensional and can look similar if they so choose, both are great fighters, but as mentioned aove, in their element, different fighters completely.

And in their respective elements, you have Leonard, using movement to set up blistering attacks, the best of them being single, powerful hooks. And Mayweather with the 'in the pocket' and 'off the ropes' countering beautiifuly
