(From the general forum, thought it made more sense here).

Thanks to Slickstar for the video.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Translation 1:

"Pacquiao? That's..that's a joke you're talking about. Pacquiao doesn't (can't) hit me- Not even OLD does he hit me! Listen to what I'm telling you. I prepare myself well, and he doesn't beat me. I already told you, he doesn't beat me. He doesn't have what it takes to beat me. Fortitude, he has it, and I have it. His punch...he has a (strong) punch, and I have a punch. I know how he fights, so he doesn't win over Roberto Duran, I'll tell you right now. Not even old does he beat me!

"What would you tell all the people who have said that?"

"All those people, they're talking **** nonsense. I wish I could get a fight with him now, with the age I have now. I'd give him salsa so he'd learn. And prepare yourself, be careful with Mosley; careful with Mosley because he's no little fish, I'll tell you."

Thanks to Bogotazo for the translation.

    Translation 2:

"Pacquiao won't hit me, not even as an old man he would hit me. Listen to me, I get my stance and I beat him, he won't beat me. He has fortitude, I have fortitude too. He's got a punch, I got a punch. I know the way he fights, and I know that he could not beat Roberto Duran, I'm telling the truth, not even now what I'm old."

What would you say to the people that are saying that he would beat you?

"To wake up, they are talking ****, they are being idiots, I say it directly they are talking ****. Make him fight me at this age, I would floored him. And beware of Mosley, he is not a fish (easy to beat)."

    Thanks to outslugger.

    Thoughts on this?

    I'd say Duran is over-the-hill.

Replace the word "Pacquiao" with "Godzilla" and Duran would see no difference.

without a doubt Duran is crazy saying he can beat Pac as an old man, I meant thoughts on the two of them fighting at their primes. Duran was very wrong about Mosley though, he was terrifed of Pac.

Ha -yeah, Montreal Duran. Let's be clear about that, even if Duran thinks he can still compete as a HW.

if a guy used his speed against Duran, Duran all of a sudden didn't train. That is why Duran adds if he were in shape because he knows that he never beat the greats Hearns,Benitez, Leonard when they were fighting at their best, so he has to add that in. Isn't it a given that Duran would be in shape when he fights a great? That itself shows the excuse. I do not understand this interview. Is he saying he can beat Manny right now? He lost to not so greast William Joppy 14 years ago.

Montreal Duran had Ray Leonard fighting his fight. If Ray had fought his style, there would not be much to the Montreal Duran aura. On one side of it Duran fans said on another thread that Duran beating Palomino was his peak performance. Then when it is brought up that Leonard outclassed Duran in the rematch, they say he was at his best at 135 and at welt it was just added frosting on his career cake. Duran gets considerations other fighters do not.

Duran beats Pacquiao at both 135 and 147. Bad stylistic match for Pac, he'd get raped on the inside.

    WHAT?!!!

OMSNV! I'd assume he'd say "Pacquiao da best! He beat my ass, and I blow him if he sang for me like he do Yimmy Kimmel!" You just can't predict these fighters, I guess. :conf

That's what I see being the difference as well. Fighting on the inside is Pacquiao's biggest weakness to me and it is one of Duran's biggest strengths. It would definately be a fan-friendly fight though.

I don't see it as one of Pac's weaknesses, I just see Duran as being one of the greatest infighters of all-time. He'd **** all but the very best there.
