Lmao it is funny like Duran is trying to insinuate that he is taking it easy but if you ever have boxed you can see that he always would have a lot of problems with benn's power and natural bigger size.

he is trying to give the impression that he is throwing soft punches to be nice with Benn but the truth is that is does not want a forceful response from Benn.

Oh no! The 37yo lightweight doesn't want to go to war with a 24yo middleweight lol

It was clearly light sparring. Duran showed he was more skilled in there even that little bit, and there's a longer video where you can see Duran clearly getting the better of Benn.

Kid. You should be playing with your ps4. You are 16 years old, you should be happy that you have an answer from me lol. Now go to play with the other children

It's light sparring practise. Neither of them should be throwing real punches. Benn looks way too fast and intense for Duran though. Duran wouldn't be able to live with that pace.

It's great footage. We shouldn't make too much out of it, though. But personally I think Benn would be too big and explosive for Duran at this stage. It's not impossible that Duran would drag him into deep waters in the last four, as he did against Barkley, but I think it's unlikely.

It’s not about age on here, it’s about boxing knowledge

George is 16 but has got that Anakin Skywalker vibe about him. Probably the most knowledgable poster on here along with Rough Diamond.

Sparring means nothing to me unless the following questions can be answered:

What stage was each man at of any camp?
If either man is not currently in a camp, how far out of camp are they?
How did fight camps affect both men and at what stage?
What was each man working on that day?
What like is each man like in sparring, generally?

If one man is two weeks out from fight and the other is four months out of their last fight with no camp begun, that matters, colossally. If one man is working on defence, or just the left hand, or infighting, that matters, enormously. If you have a guy like Jack Dempsey, who was extremely hard on sparring partners, sparring a guy like Muhammad Ali, who used sparring for conditioning and to use on his weaknesses, that matters enormously.

Sparring is meaningless. It doesn't mean anything.

Except for stuff like power/chin. Generally speaking - but not always - if a guy has the power to KO a guy in sparring, he has the power to KO a guy in the ring. But even that's not universally true. Some fighters seem to be harder to KO when in great shape and if the fighter getting knocked out isn't in camp and is in the ring for the first time in six months, he'll be slower and his timing and radar will be off - the one doing the knocking out might never, ever land on him.

I always felt this way but I still kind of like watching sparring videos because it's a bit of a kick to see wee techniques they might be working on. But anyone trying to predict fighting based upon sparring needs to reign it in IMO.

How would you know what he wants? I know just by looking at this video
and how Duran is moving he is working on a part of his game. And in
this small window of film, its clear the class difference in the fighters.

I'm sure Duran wouldn't have any fear of Benn after going 15rds
with M.Hagler, if that's what your insinuating. My question for
you is what is your agenda?

I believe this is befor Duran signed to fight Barkley.
I totally disagree what one of the posters has to say. This was Duran doing a tour of England type of thing where hes having some fun and throwing pitty Patty punches while Benn is the much more serious of the two. Anybody who knows what's happening in there can see that.

Ah, but - I think George hails from 'The North of England'. If so, he was likely born with the mental seasoning of a middle-aged philosopher.
