Anyone who thinks that Duran would knockout Whitaker really needs to reasses such an opinion. It's highly possible, but consider the following. Duran wasn't a one punch knockout artist at lightweight. His knockouts happened down the stretch when fatigue set in to his opponents and the gradual pounding he gave over the course of a fight. Duran never had Tyson or Hearns like power for his weight. Anyone think Duran hits Whitaker enough to stop him? I don't think so.

at the top of sweet pea's game he was virtually impossible to hit ... i don't think that duran would do anything to change that.

Whitaker's defense for the right hand was amazing as well and that was Duran's money punch ... I think that Whitaker embarrasses him, frustrates him, and win by UD.

At lightweight there weren't many better --

I'd go with Whitaker by a close/clear decision.
