this weekend in Vegas was f'n nuts for UFC 100. I think there may have been some truth in the tix not selling due to the fights yesterday. PBF-Marquez would have been a downer. Hard to top the atmosphere over the whole town this Saturday.

    What an f'n weekend.

I heard the Duran interview on spanish TV......
......he basically said that Marquez had what it takes to beat Mayweather and that weight would'nt be an issue because Mayweather does'nt impose strenghth and will on a fighter.......

Duran then went on to say that he had talked with Marquez and laid out a blueprint to which to beat Mayweather.......
Duran said, "Mayweather is a fighter that overuses his left hand. He's mainly a one handed fighter".......Duran went on to say, "nullify his left jab by staying in close and attacking the body to which Mayweather's defense will not have a defense for"......"down to the body and up with uppercuts.....make Mayweather fight a busy fight and Mayweather is going to be zapped of his strenghth down the stretch."

"Marquez le va ganar a Mayweather si sigue el plan que yo le di!"

---translation, "Marquez will beat Mayweather if he follows the plan I gave him!"

Alot of what Duran said makes sense, just as long as Marquez does'nt underestimate that Mayweather's right hand can be a factor if you give him enough space to shoot it.

.....but Duran is within the ballpark of reality in his advice to Marquez.....since Mayweather has the reach advantage, Marquez must get inside to dig to the body and while inside, undoubtedly Mayweather will attempt to tie him up.......if anyone saw the Casamayor fight......Casa is a fighter that fights dirty and likes to tie up on the inside.....but against JMM, he rarely was unable to tie Marquez on the inside because Marquez was so swift and precise to sidestep and shoot the uppercut, before Casa got a chance to tie him up.

A similar type of scenario could happen to Mayweather.

Buy it Farmy.......you may miss one magical night of boxing if Marquez pulls it off.

Its never the same to see it the next weekend for free.

With the fight postponed till mid september, Marquez has more time to get acclamated to the extra pounds on him.

A JMM victory means the greatest single victory in Mexican boxing history......and I dont believe I'm exxagerating this when I say it.

Marquez can do it.....he's been disrespected his whole career, and thats just the motivation he needs to keep himself hungry and desire victory at whatever cost.

I hungry fighter is a dangerous fighter.....and there is absolutely no way that Mayweather is hungrier for victory than Juan Manuel Marquez!

I agree that JMM has what it takes to beat PBF. He has the power, stamina, skills and speed like nothing PBF has ever seen before.

But JMM being disrespected his whole career is also partly his own doing. I am not going to go elaborate this **** all over again.

Are you planning to put some decent money on JMM?

yeah if Marquez were Duran this might work, but he isn't Duran. Mayweather is faster and the size will make his counters hurt when he does hit Marquez.. It will keep Marquez respectful. I edited this and I put Mayweather instead of Marquez earlier. Age is getting to me with stupid mistakes like that.

The news was brief...I dont believe the injury is real. However, it was reported that his sparring partner was able to connect enough body shots--this I find interesting.

I believe that Marquez will put up a good fight--but as to who gets the W I will leave that to G-d.

I would be more interested in hearing Duran's breakdown on the strategy to beat PBF and how he thinks Marquez could do it rather than useless trash talk with no merit.

There's alot more Pac hatred on this board than Mayweather hating at this moment. And that's a fact.
