Canelo would beat Moore half to death?

    Oh boy....

Gotta love kids that didn't watch boxing before 2006...

    Moore wasn't Angulo or Kirkland.

Bigger & stronger rarely bothered Roberto. Check Hagler & Barkley for specifics. That said, I do not know enough aboyt Alvarez to make a call.
The only fight of his I have seen was against Mayweather, where he looked pedestrian. Then again, most do against Floyd.

Moore had no poise. Canelo is leagues ahead in mental strength and defense.

I wasn't aware that Canelo had a defense.

Jesus Canelo is only 25, he probably won't peak till another 4 or 5 years and he's already being compared to Duran:huh

If Canelo beats COTTO convincingly a(BIG IF) then YEA lets compare him to Duran but until then he's still got a ways to go get real..

I agree with this. Canelo is a warrior, a hot prospect who could become much better in time. Right now however, I think Moore would take him and definitely Duran. But as SS66 pointed out - he's only 25 and his resume is looking pretty solid already. He could become somebody ... :yep

If Canelo is a prospect, Moore is a never was. Canelo already has a resume twice as good as Moore's and has beaten a fighter or two who were better than Moore. Moore had no defense and would get picked apart.

Lara and Trout, as well as some decent guys like Angulo and Kirkland. It's very good resume for one his age. The main problem is that his two best wins were far from convincing, I for one thought Trout at least earned a draw.

I don't see it as the mismatch some of you are painting it out to be. At 154 Duran was passed his best and I can think of several guys that I think could beat him. Not Canelo though, he has a style that will suit Roberto just fine. Duran will be able to use his great defence on the inside and his counterpunching skills and won't be handicapped by his (at this stage in his career) rather pedestrian footwork. Canelo is young and strong with fast hands, but his strengths play right into Roberto's hands. Duran will stay right in there with him and tame him, and when Canelo gasses, we will see just how good that chin of his is. Roberto is not a monster puncher at 154, but he could still bang a bit. So Duran by decision or late stoppage.

The Trout match was open scoring. You can't really knock him for not putting his foot on the gas when he knew he was ahead.

Good point! Both Lara and Trout were dangerous fights that he should be credited for taking.
