Yes today Hatton probally stops him in the 2nd but Duran would really have to boil down to get to 147. Seriously at their peak, Duran probally stops him in 8-10 rounds, Hatton is great but he loses to Pryor and gets destroyed by Duran. Duran is the worst possible style matchup he can sure has hell outbox Hatton and is an even better brawler as well.
Duran stops him before round 6 easily. This thread is a joke.. come on. At least make a matchup where the underdog has more than a 2% chance.
yea, i know, im just talking in general terms,we all pretty much know who'd win,but they are two pretty similar fighters,he did fight at 147 for a good few fights and him and ricky are of similar size.stylistically duran had success over leonard and i was just wondering if this could in fact be a blueprint for ricky's success over pbf.in no way am i comparing ricky to duran in terms of greatness or ability just finkin could ricky do to pbf what duran did to sugar?
Leonard is nothing like Floyd (a defense first fighter) , Leonard ATTACKED with rapid powerful single shots when in the middle of the ring , Floyd curls uo and then counters with precision. And Duran aynt like Hatton , I dont think Ricky is 1-dimensional , but he hasnt got half as many dimensions as Duran. Duran was the perfect blend of defense and offense , Ricky cant block/dodge a whole flurry and land a fight-ending flurry of his own at THE SAME TIME. The only thing Leonard and Maweather have in common is speed , and the only thing Duran and Hatton have is strength. Not a good comparison
Thats what respectful fighters do. You must be joking. Ricky Hatton I think is great , his pressure is really clever , but I dont care about natural weight advantage , this is ROBERTO DURAN , this is madness
I wouldn't worry, they all said the same things about the slapping glasshands "Joe Calfaghe" until he knocked seven shades of **** out of Jeff "Mini Mike Tyson" Lacy. I even saw one guy on one of the forums stick $25k down on a Lacy KO he was so sure. Does anyone believe that FMJ will KO Ricky Hatton? De La Hoya came out of that fight looking the same way he did when he went in. So did FMJ for that matter.
