Gem of an analysis. Not quite up there with napoles being predictable based on a highlights video set to samba music though

I don`t give a **** what anyone says... `78` 135 lbs. Duran owns and eats up PBF. Duran fought better and better oposition as he went along, this is why he improved. Where as PBF, cherry-picked once he got on top. Duran had real good handspeed and quick feet on the way in. So comparing him to the likes of Hatton,Castillo,NDou punching bags just doesn`t equate. Plus, here`s something else that everyone seems to conveniently forgets, I don`t think in a war that PBF has the nails to stay in with Duran,no way. Does anyone really think that PBF`s defense, shoulder rolls, feints etc. ,really keeps Duran at bay ? In a fight like this, balls and fighting heart come into play, when boxing skills alone doesn`t get it done. If PBF, thought he went to war with Castillo ??? Thats child play compared to what he would feel with Duran...

Floyd will not fall for the toe to toe style that duran will need to win. Floyd will box him was than Leonard did.

I never enunciated this in my post but this is bang on.

Forget about this being a boxing match, Duran wouldn't allow that, rather think trench warfare and an out and out fight, then decide who you like in this match.

I don't see Mayweather having that option because Duran is going to be at him every step of the way and he'll force him against the ropes if necessary.

Mayweather isn't going be allowed to have the distance to box Duran, because Duran isn't going to back up and allow Mayweather to spin off the ropes and if he does, Mayweather isn't going to land enough to win the fight because his main focus will be avoiding getting hit. mayweather's biggest asset is his counter punching ability, but that requires you sticking around close enough to counter when a fighter misses. If he wants to do that, then fine he'll have some success with it no doubt, but he'll also be there to be hit and he'll likely be forced to stay and fight, rather than run and move because Duran won't allow him to get off the ropes without taking some serious punishment.

There's almost no way this turns into a middle of the ring dance in which Mayweather pot shots Duran to victory, that's not happening.

it started off a little strange, claiming that duran's only advantage is mayweathers hands despite having a clear advantage in strength, punching power and body attack at 135....

....then it got downright ****ed up with the comparison to gatti, hatton and n'dou :patsch

Floyd is too slick. Frustrates Duran to a clear points win.

Mayweather frustrates Duran with one shot right hand pot-shotting ??? Watch him eat his way through a true 147 lbs in SRL (who could BANG) .Then try to imagine PBF keeping Duran out of his grill with the weak **** he throws. PBF would want to box and keep him at a safe distance. The problem is,that Duran won`t let him... I mean come on, Castillo gave him big problems !!!

TBF, Mayweather would have height and reach on Duran but Duran is likely gaining a few pounds after the weigh in, not as much as some of todays fighters because it would be a same day weigh in in the 70s (suits Mayweather well). Mayweather was 138 against a 147lb Castillo, Duran probably gains back 5-8lbs, anymore than that and he'll be weakened by weight making and have his drained excuse 'not the real Duran, doesn't count' :yep

`78` Duran would need no excuse... You guys are funny trying to slide Castillo into the comparison conversation ... Castillo wouldn`t be good sparring back in the day for Duran. As for excuses, how many would PBF have to come up with to NOT sign for vintage `Manos de Piedras` ????? Again, Duran wanted not only to fight the best but DESTROY the best !

Sorry to be harsh here lads but this is the classic forum, which is the equivalent to fighting in England. The inhabitants intensely claim that you can get a fair fight here and that it's nothing like the other place (general forum/mainland europe) but in reality it's just as bad here or worse.

The fix is in. Duran wins by **** in ass ****.

In reality, this is a great match because Mayweather is a fantastic fighter. I favour Duran slightly.

Mayweather is not a good enough in-fighter to deal with Duran imo. He's too basic in his defensive set up when in close to fight effectively with a fluid mauler like Duran.

If the referee actually does his job and stops Mayweather using his forearm, he'd probably get stopped late in the fight. If Mayweather is allowed to elbow his way through the fight, he'll probably do well enough to go the distance whilst losing a clear decision in which Duran probably takes two thirds of the rounds.

Duran never faced a man who could pull counter or check hook.Perhaps this would be the deciding factor?.
