I was just about to post similar, i've just watched Castillo I/II & how anyone can seriously credit Mayweather with any chance of victory should be kicked to death. I've watched floyd plenty of times & he is what you'd call a "Spoiler" very clever at getting away with disrupting the flow of a fight & getting the refereee to call a halt to the action & then re-set himself with the same counter punch & step in with his fore-arm held high & pushed into the opponants throat. Single punches then skip away or in effect foul continuously when an opponant is moving in on him thus requiring the ref to call break.

Floyd has never ever faced an opponant of the calibre of Duran & as you said floyds defence is pretty basic & he's massively wide open at times once he's thrown a right cross & he looks like a cat in a micro-wave such is the look of terror on his counternance when that right hand missis & he knows he's oh so wide open & Duran's going to have a party with feints he'll employ to get onto Floyds chest & punch a hole in it. Floyd just dos'nt throw enough punches, he has'nt got an inside game, it's a survival stratergy he employs. For me Mayweather is tailor-made for Duran. He just would'nt know how to cope with the non-stop 3 minute up-market fistic pressure thats going to be brought to bear. No escape & even less chance of seeing the final bell.

He's just not of the Calibre of Duran, SRL, Chavez, Hearns & plenty more from the recent past & there's one person who'd defently KO mayweather & thats Alexis Arguello. After watching Floyds- Castillo fights & also the Judah & Hatton fight i can honestly see why he wants absolutly no part of Manny Pacquiao. He just would not be able to handle the continuos rough & tumble.

I agree with the general sentiment of your post duranimal, but despite loving Alexis the most, I actually think Floyd, on his bike, is a horrible match-up for Alexis.

But Floyd on his bike ai'nt gonna win him the fight, you've got 2 boxers here who are supreme when it comes to timing a punch & one has the power & the other has'nt, thats why i'am of the mind that sooner or later he's going to chin floyd.

I know what your getting at regarding this as a horrible match-up, what with floyd pot shotting form range & legging it juxtaposed with Alexis who could appear pretty static at times. It's the Alexis jab for me that would open Mayweather up, If DLH can paralyse Floyd with it then i'am going with Alexis to land the bombs & often, but hey, it's just an opinion, just like your's, which is a fair & honest:yep but shite:lol: ....just kidding:yep

I actually think Mayweather is a very good infighter he's very effective on the inside, But I do agree though that Duran would of been to good for him on the inside and would of known where to place his punches in the right area's unlike (Hatton and De La Hoya).

Chavez fight was a good demonstration of his infighting ability.

agreed. in an odd way, the n'dou fight might be another case. it wasn't trench warfare in the traditional sense but he showed the ability to weather a storm and carefully place his shots against a physically (in some ways) superior opponent

Duran was just a master at working inside... Slick, powerful and exptreme;y sharp at plaing his punches, ie; groin if needed :) It wasn`t fun for opponents or safe either in the trench with Duran. And since I have absolutley no doubt that he would walk through (with ease) anything PBF throws at him... Slickness alone would not allow PBF to make the final bell much less win... 13 rd stoppage, yes 15 rds for all the marble`s...

To anyone upset at my prediction all I did is provide the normal Mayweather fight pattern. One that Duran would have no idea how to handle. Yes he'd quit. Mayweather is more unorthdox than Leonard. If an experanced Duran (29) quits in that fight. Than there is no reason to think a younger less experanced Duran wouldn't quit in the same situation. When it comes to the mental part of the sport Mayweather > than pretty much everyone else including Duran. Druan may be the best for his style. However it is a limiting style. There is abouslaty nothing he can do to beat Mayweather. He's going to walk into counter shots that will take their tool, and will allow Mayweather to become more agresive and take control of the fight. Duran is not going to outbox Mayweather on the outside eather. Mayweather's skills in that aspact are better than Duran's are. I will give Duran one more advantage other than Mayweather's often injured hands. At least he's not Jose "Make 2 Moves and Stop" Napoles.

Against N'Dou, Floyd was in with such an inadequate opponent that he allowed him to unload his shots at his defence. Great show of defence against a **** opponent.

That's the only time when Floyd looked really good in lightweight.
