How would a fight between these two in their primes go down?

I personally would prefer Duran, but I wouldn't completely count Chavez out.

What are you thoughts on this hypothetical dream match?

This fight has been analyzed as much any matchup in history, so I'll just keep it very simple.... Chavez was an AMAZING fighter... but Duran was better.

They had some similar strengths. IMO Duran separates himself with his quickness and defense. Not saying Chavez wouldn't have some success and show his worth. JCC had a great chin and here he would need all of it. Duran would be the dangerous one with more explosive power.

I think we see Duran of DeJesus III here. He uses speed and skill to outslick Chavez for a comfortable UD.

Duran by decision . He's in a class above here , even though Chavez is a legend . Would be an entertaining scrap but there d be no protest when Duran has his hand raised .

Duran was too fast and defensvie. JCC was a great fighter, but sort of an overachiever type, even if he had a perfect hook to the body.

    Duran on points for me.

    Great matchup.

I think Duran wins by competitive decision.

His defense was a bit better - he rode with punches whereas Chavez got hit flush a lot more.

Chavez was extremely durable though so I do not see a stoppage, or Chavez even being hurt by Duran.
