Chavez was nothing more than an antiques dealer.

What round?? There's more chance of Chavez winning Miss Latin America than there is of a stoppage in this one.

After 15 of the most gruelling, intense, and exciting rounds imaginable (for a fan of bone-juddering infighting), Duran is awarded a solid and convincing UD around 10-5. Chavez impressed with his bravery and resilience, but his face looks like the surface of Mars.

bare in mind that duran was KD'd by DeJesus and lost to him on another occasion , so it really is not that easy.
both were stoppable. although hard to , at their best weights.

Agree with this. I think Duran's footspeed could be a decided factor. Duran certainly could fight on the inside with Chavez but would have an edge from long range (atlhough Chavez's boxing abillity gets underrated). Tough, amazing fight. 9-6ish Duran.

Duran was better than Chavez at EVERYTHING. But what really sets them apart is speed. Duran had by FAR the faster hands, and would beat Chavez in exchanges all night.

I'm not comvinced it's as clear cut as some think!!! Chavez at this weight was a monster...and a big puncher. Duran was also droppable and while I don't see Chavez stopping him, I can see JCC winning a decision because of a couple of kd's.

Duran has the ability to win this, but it would largley depend upon how he fights stylistically. It wouldn't shock me to see him fight Chavez fight.

    Frankenfrank...."both stoppable". Really!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I think this was actually Chavez's best weight. He didnt stay long but if he did he would have been a top 3 lt wt of all time. I think Chavez is one of the most accurate punchers ever. This would be a close fight with Durans Superior speed the differance,But this fight would go the distance for sure just cuz Duran gets dropped by Dejesus dont think his chin wasnt Iron it was! Chavez had one of the greatest chins in history so knockout is out the question here. Id go with by 144-142 145-141 144-142 duran

Just about everyfighter has been dropped, and getting dropped by Dejusus a HOF and very good puncher is nothing to be ashamed of,Duran beat him the next 2 times. I just got done with you on your talk about Mccall,Tua,Byrd being atg:patsch HEy:rasta:rasta Good Sh*t ha:lol:

I consider this to be a match between the two best lightweights in history. Both in their prime, I have to believe Duran outboxes Chavez. Duran was a master boxer approaching the level of a Robinson. Chavez was a superb boxer, too, and a devastating puncher. But Duran edges it over 15.
