Both not the greatest 154'ers, but would provide a
    pretty exciting fight.

Who wins...The Beast or Hands of Stone?

Mugabi was an incredibly hard puncher at 154. I think he rips Duran a new ******* and ko's him.

Being that Mugabi is naturally bigger and hits considerably harder, and at a weight considerably higher than LW, Roberto is a bit disadvantaged here. It would be a good tussle, but John would stop him late, IMHO.

i think i´d go with the duran of the davey moore fight to win.

mugabi didnt have much of a chin/heart when he moved down to jr.middle.

and duran took all of moores shots without flinching, so i think that mugabi wouldnt get him out with a single bomb.

i see duran outboxing mugabi, work the body and stopping a discourage mugabi late.

God why did Duran win that moore fight, now it gives Duran fans some wierd idea that he would actually win this fight. Duran is the most overrated H2H fighter of all times.

I think that you know as much about Duran as I do about Duran Duran. And that ain't much.

Duran eats technically deficient come-forward guys. If Duran at 37 can beat Iran Barkley, who's bigger, stronger, taller, and hit comparably as hard as Mugabi, then he could be expected at 32 to beat John "bloated resume" Mugabi.

I'd wager that it would be a clinic.

I think you're right. Duran has no business in the ring with the Mugabi's and Hearn's.

Good poat, funny aswell! Im with you on this one. Very good point on 'Duran eats come forward technically deficient guys'. Despite the weights the bouts were fought at, i think the Barkley fight gives Duran more of a chance of beating Mugabi than does the Moore fight.

Mugabi can win this, he was a very good and immensely powerful fighter at 154, but class and skill is not comparable between the 2, and Duran still showed that at times at the higher weights, THAT Duran wins this imo.

I agree. Recently rewatched Duran/Cuevas yesterday...Duran was rounding into form from being out of condition. The timing and reflexes were coming back...and the combinations flowed against a willing, come forward opponent...I like Duran over Mugabi by decision. I was wondering what you thought of Duran against guys like Bennie Briscoe and Rodrigo Valdez...Duran certainly had the skillset to find them repeatedly with different angles, then use the side step to roll out of the way, against not extremely fast opposition...But Briscoe and Valdez hit a ton!

Who knows, maybe? It truly is great that Duran can be considered against MWs such as these, remarkable. Great

Very true Teeto. Duran was fantastic. Great, great fighter...stylistically Duran would give them trouble...but could he bear the burden of fighting the larger fighters like Briscoe and Valdez? It's fun to go back and watch those old fights anyway.

Duran's a special here IMO. He has to be at his best tho, the version who fought Moore would be quite sufficient. Some of the early going would be dangerous to say the least, but Duran's skill, defensive timing and brilliant anticipation would see him home i reckon. 90% of Mugabi's legend is made from the Hagler fight and i just think Duran is too good. What fighter did Mugabi beat that was better than the Duran of the Moore fight? Who was actually the best win of Mugabi's career?

Curtis Parker?...maybe Frank Fletcher. Off the top of my head, I think that's basically it.

Exactly, and even a Fletcher by this time had been in some wars and was brutalised by Roldan.
