Duran vs Pacquiao

Duran by a one sided hammering and a winner within 9 minutes of fighting

 

I need to see manny in a few more fights before feeling comfortable. The main consideration is how we feel about the quality state of the sport at this point. I don't believe it's of the same quality, but I still need to see more of Manny.

This is rough fight.

Pac might try to box in this one...he has good footwork.

Duran would catch up with him by Rd 10.

 

At 135, Duran in 8 rounds. Manny would be competitive until the stoppage.

 

Yeah Pac would be competetive but Duran will show him a world of pain as it progresses imo

 

Its very unlikely there would be huge calls for a rubber match with the score at 2-0 Duran.

If the 3rd fight was allowed to happen, it would read 3-0 Duran - all inside the distance.

I dont have time to do a rd by rd but briefly, the fight would go as such.....

Pac darts in & out landing the odd one but most are grazing punches, Duran doesnt go all out & instead is content to land 1 or 2 clean solid blows to the body & head now & then, this continues til about the 5th were Pac gets more confident & stays in range longer, Duran starts to open up as he senses Pac is in his `fighters zone` & is ready for war.
Both go toe to toe but Duran just keeps coming, slipping punches & easily taking the ones that connect, Pac looks awkward & weary going backwards, Duran pins him on the ropes & just plain outlands him on the inside, Pac stays right there taking hard shots but still firing back until a left hook to the chin drops him, he takes an 8 count, Duran repeats the feat twice more only these times using body shots aswell as head shots, Pac beats the count but is wearing a red mask & has jelly legs... ref stops fight & winner by 9th rd TKO... Roberto Duran.

 

stylewise this is a good fight for Duran, but you never know with Manny. I think Manny has such great skills that he would make it a good fight and might win a decision. The only thing which makes me think Duran would win is the weight. P4P I think Manny might be just as good.

 

Bad style match for Manny, and quality. While Manny has one some good wins, none of those fighters are in Duran's class. Let alone his peak at 135-147.
