That is how I see it. Even though he was limited in a sense at the higher weights he still fought just about everybody. Just a different era I guess. Guys pick and choose more today.
True, he only missed McCallum really who was unfashionable for obvious reasons. As a lightweight he is mind boggling. I struggle to believe there has ever been a better 135, he's a monster. Whitaker and Ike Williams are the best i can do.
I think that about sums it up. He didn't spend any time there, because he went a chasing Leonard and, as such, doesn't get any historical props for passing through. But, I think he'd be a nightmare for each and every one of the top 140-pounders in history, all the same.
