"No mas" was worse, as it was seemingly a statement on Duran's character. He backed down from a fight. Against Hearns, he took his bomb like a man.

Leonard didn't humiliat Duran. Duran humiliated himself.

Absolutely:good. Duran is my favorite fighter ever (Leonard is the fighter I dislike the most), and I remember feeling betrayed when he quit:lol:. No Mas is far worse than the loss to Tommy.

Let's put it this way, if Duran was a Gamedog he'd have been put down after the Leonard fight...

I think the LKO2 Hearns was worse.
I mean, I'd rather do another "No Mas" than get poleaxed by Thomas Hearns.

Hearns didn't really give him a chance to "No Mas", which was a little unkind of him.

I think the "No Mas" incident was more bewildering than humiliating. I think some people interpreted it as a humiliation, but most were just scratching their heads and looking for answers.

Educate me on the build up/post fight of Hearns-Duran? Much hype going in? Did Duran ever clamor for a rematch after getting dispatched so quickly? It looks like he didnt fight for a year and a half following that loss.

Also interesting that Barkley beats Hearns and follows with a loss to Duran..but those two manage to not find again.
