Watching some Duran videos today and the man can slip punches like a monster. What are you thoughts on his defense?
I agree with the "best defense ever for a pressure fighter" statement. Even when he was relentlessly attacking opponents, he kept his head moving. Great defense in close as well. Had he not had great defense, he wouldn't have been able to be as successful vs. the 154 and 160 pounders he fought. It's a thing of beauty to watch Duran operate.
You could see his head roll with the punch. I just seemed so lucid. Hit it and it would sway with the punch and then straighten back up unfazed.
Agreed, he rolled with punches as well as anyone i have seen. He was seldom caught flush, tho sometimes it may not look that way.
