Well, he did hit him in balls, and it was after bell. He also never gave rematch which Buchanan was always seeking. Actualy, Duran's people would not give rematch. I'm sure Duran would have fought him.

I guess you are right about Lampkin, I should have said it was one of best fights I ever saw him in. IMO

He won a little clearer in the rematch, but in any case, I think that we should give Viruet credit here. He was a tough opponent, not just for Duran, but for just about anyone he fought. He held his own against Esteban DeJesus and was by all reports robbed against Sammy Goss.

Yes Duran struggled, but given the quality of the opponent, I still regard Duran's fights with him as amongst his best wins.

Yea , it was a very very good fight to watch, the finish was as vicious as any of Duran's!! Buchannan win was still one of Duran's very finest imo

No worries. I would take quality of performance into consideration along with the opposition. But you're being very specific to the question I suppose I'm not.

Oh, yeah, it was great fight, especialy for Duran. He was winning up till then anyway, but Buchanan was still in it. I can't remember, but I think Duran was not the favorite betting wise for that fight. Who expects a guy to be that good?
