This Year - I've been to both of Martinez's fights at the Board Walk Hall - and I'll have say - he's given me my money's worth. Even more in the Williams Fight. Looking forward to seeing him back there again. Here are a couple of pics that I took from the fight. It took me a while to figure out the sizing of the pics - but here they are for sharing and enjoyment. Not a problem - tried to get them up a coupe of days after the fight. I find it funny that I was able to get a pic with Paul Williams at the Martinez/Pavlik fight. Told him he would be the next Middle Weight Champion. But I thought he would be fighting Pavlik. I went with Martinez for the Williams fight and Boom! I was surprise to see Martinez on the escalator but he was nice enough to stop and take pictures with us and some other fans - after they realized who I was taking pictures with.
That's great bro. Dang I envy you. You basically were apart of watching the Knock Out of the Year. Something to tell the grand kids in the future. Nice pics. :good
damn i was gonna go to Williams-Martinez 2 but money was tight and i wouldnt settle for anything less then first couple rows. i kinda regret it now since i'm a HUGE fan of Maravilla and he had basically the best win of his career that night.
Agreed, I actually had a girl (who makes BANK) (also has a boyfriend:yep ) from NY willing to shell out 500 for 2 AWESOME tix by ringside for us... Unfortunately, finding a cheap place to stay in AC became a problem so she just took the train down and we watched it at my place in Philly. TBH, I'm not terribly disappointed that I missed out, just because it ended so fast. However, for a fraction of the cost I went to Pavlik/Martinez with a different girl and had one hell of a time cheering on Sergio. edit: she didn't pay for the room because that was the one stipulation... SHE got the tix, and I got the room.
To be all honest with you'll - I bought the cheap seats at $50 each ($62.50 after taxes). However - as you can see from the pics of the fight - there are really no bad seats in the house. I only spent $170 for my room (Knight's Inn w/ the Jacuzzi) & the Tickets. At this price - I'll be at most of the major fights - if their happening at the Boardwalk Hall. I suggest you jump on them too. For the kid not to speak any English - he was cool. My girl was going to take the picture - but Sergio's girl - told mine to get the shot too. I actually turned to him and said - "Don't hold my girl too tight!" - he didn't understand what I was saying - but someone from his camp told him. He just laughed and said - "Oh - Jew Girlfrrrrrriiiiend!" - you know how they roll them R's. I couldn't have a convo with him - so I got my pics - said "Gracias!" and went on my way - while he got mugged by those that noticed him then.
Wow thats whats up. You gave me alot to think about. I would take the trip. How far is AC from Newark, NJ?
Less than 2 hours. I'm in Delaware - drove up to Montclair to pick up shorty - then made my way down. Trust me - you should make the trip - its worth it.
