One of our lads boxed him last year and said his power was different level. I’ve been keeping an eye on him ever since. At the very least, he’ll get in the position to box for a world title.

I'm with you. Was searching for someone to take this stance.

Just saw his most recent fight and I feel like I am in a Jared Anderson situation again.

He showed little more than offense. His stance is super open for a good fighter to hit him with a straight right. Also he basically only punches at mid range. Someone able to box long should be enough to stop him from doing anything with the way he offers his head. Footwork looked like he is a kickboxer which should make it hard for him to pressure good fighters.

He might still learn a lot and become a better boxer, but if any of those hyping him now belong to the guys criticizing tim tszyu...

At this point I mainly see him as physically strong. To me he the only way he gets a fight against a top 10 fighter is because of his name/hype.

It’s going to take him leaving Holland to work on the aspects that he is lacking in, it’s such a kickboxing dominated country that he’s going to struggle to get the opponents to improve on his kickboxing characteristics that don’t translate well into boxing.
He’s apparently getting some advice and remote coaching from the fury’s but his best bet is to get in a few sparring camps with some current champions or some ranked fighters, and that would probably be enough for him to see where he needs to improve.
Hes probably the best in his gym and everyone is probably blowing smoke up his pipe, there’s no way he’s going to get into a ranked position for a title while he’s still based in Holland.
He has fought in England a few times but I don’t know if he’s done full camps here, it’s worth noting that I haven’t followed his career and I’ve only watched a few fights of his but he doesn’t fight like a boxer and that’s pretty easy to see, the only other time I’ve seen anyone box like that was Connor McGregor when he boxed Floyd.
I think he is getting the benefit of people who go against the general consensus for the purpose of being controversial or wanting to be in a minority that wants to be able to say I told you so. It’s the inverse of when people are underrating Moses Ituma, asking what would happen in this or that situation, when his displays have been close to flawless and the opinions of his peers are that he’s something special. It’s kind of like hedging your bets.
He may turn out to be a good boxer but he’s got some adjustments to make in his style, and it’s a difficult decision to make for him and his team when he’s winning fights.

    I kinda agree.

Also want to tell you Gradus has been working closely with Peter Fury for almost his entire career, so I’m curious to see if that would change your outlook on whether he can make these improvements you’re suggesting.

Wouldn’t have said that he couldn’t but if he’s been training with the Peter Fury almost his whole career, it looks like he hasn’t made the changes yet. I haven’t watched enough of him to be honest but it is probably harder for a fighter to fix mistakes than to be untrained or forget the years of training of a different discipline such as kickboxing.
