That contract was the reason why the fight never happened.

If we like it or not Stevenson was paid handsomely to fight on SHO while Kathy was shortchanging Sergei.. And the fight still could have happen but they pulled out of the purse bid because PBC was gonna win it.. Stevenson definitely ducked Kovalev and every threat at 175 after Cloud but let’s not act like Kovalev wasnt badly underpaid and mismanaged..

I definitely didn't say that.

For the three first years of his career, Kovalev had been fighting for free—just for food and shelter (and he also didn't have to pay for a trainer, gym, training camp, etc). And only after having signed with Duva (no one else wanted to sign Kovalev) he received his first purse—$5000 (yes, five thousands). So, Duva has literally saved Sergey, elevated him from almost nothing to the top levels.

Also, let's not forget that LHW wasn't a money division.

We keep hearing the propaganda that Canelo will fight anyone. The only problem with that is that there is guy closer in weight than Kovalev who would gladly fight Canelo. That man is David Benavidez but Canelo wants no part of Benavidez. Why? Because Benavidez would KO Canelo. That is THE fight I want to see.

Enjoy the Munguia fight then hombre. Clenelo will slaughter the poor boy and we'll all pretend it was "the best possible fight".

$6m is half of what Jacobs pulled. Ain't gonna cut it.

No, but he ought to challenge those who are prime, not those who are in decline.

We all know Canelo's game. Fight has-beens who were once very good fighters. That way he gets more names on his resume but at the wrong time in their careers. He has made a career out of doing this.

Kovalev: "It was confusing that there was no certainty who I would be fighting, when and where. …

I am focused on the upcoming fight against Yarde. … This is a mandatory defense. It was our choice – the idea was that after it we would be free to organize any fight – to unify or to fight Canelo, for example.

Had I fought Alvarez now, we would have had to pay quite a lot to Yarde as step-aside money. Also, they demanded an opportunity for Yarde to fight the winner. …

If the Canelo fight is meant to be, it will happen."

This all makes sense of the Yarde deal. Tactically astute to show you have a fall-back...

Shes a woman. Does this really surprise anyone? He really should've left her long ago. Behind every failed man theres a woman. Behind every successful man there is drive and determination.
