Since it is being a public negociation, and since Duva is claiming publicly that it is being "a serious offer", I call it BS. Duva threw something up in the air "Beterbiev could be an opponent to Kovalev in Moscow", thinking Yvon Michel wouldn't respond, but since he did and said it would be possible, Duva is now making an "official" offer. But there is to much "stuff" seperating the two to fight next in Moscow.

Why wouldn't Beterbiev take it? He has nothing to lose. It would be a free shot at 3 belts and if he wins Haymon can then match him up with Stevenson for all the belts. Why would you not accept something like this?

No actually it sounds to me like Kovalev and Duva are looking to take a very hard fight yet again.

Very risking move for Kovalev but I think he'll win at this stage.

I don't know where people here this. Ginobili look-alike got $275k last Saturday.

And I heard that because they have trouble finding opponents for Kovalev, they have to pay a bit extra to convince these guys to step into the ring with him.

I think they are hoping to fight Beterbiev before he's ready.

This is incredible. I did not think they would even get this far at this stage. I still would be shocked if this happens so soon. Potentially a great fight that has more intrigue than any other bout this year and would fly directly in the face of how most of these promoters/advisors operate.

There really would be no shame in Team Beterbiev saying give us a year. Nobody in their right mind would blame them. I would love for this to get made but it really is a long shot.

I'd wait too because lots of boxing fans don't sit on forums all day.
and probably have no idea who Beterbeiv even is.
that's a better match for north america than russia. too

Beterbiev is Chechen, fighting in Moscow, yeah right.

Both are with different network Beterbiev has signed with Haymon, Kovalev is with HBO.

Kovalev himself said he doesn't want the fight now.

Serious negociations don't go public like this. The promoters here are adressing the media on any step they make.

    This is just BS.
