Yeah, but we can't look at it based on the Prescott fight. That would be matching up a fighter that doesn't exist anymore with Maidana, which is a bit pointless. I know what you mean that could happen, but its not the best way analyze the fight by assuming Khan is still capable of making those mistakes. If he gets KO'd it shouldn't be for the same reasons as that, which were basically sloppy amateur mistakes early in the fight. It's more likely to be Maidana keeps on him, and takes advantage when Khan begins to tire, when he can get his punches off more often.

Sure Maidana might be more value in terms of betting but thats not the same as picking him.

If anyone in this division is not able to hurt Khan then they're gonna have problems because Amir's is very hard to outbox, due to his speed, leverage, jab, footwork and athleticism. He's rather like Sumbu Kalambay, Mickael Nunn or even Terry Norris in that sense.

Problem for Maidana is Khan has learnt to hide his weaknesses...he no longer it seems fights with the same recklessness or abandon as he did pre Prescott. Rather like when Norris got stopped by Simon Brown. He knows he can't fight on the inside and his attributes are best utilised as an in and out sharpshooter, putting more emphasize on using his footwork more intelligently as his defence.

Maidana is too slow, too predictable and will either get stopped or lose in a shutout. Khan's fight to lose and anyone picking Maidana is going for the "what if" argument.

Dwyer is cool, but he's been off recently, and I think Khan's boxing brain and handspeed will give Maidana big fits all night long. Khan UD.

I see a lot of posts about this guy saying he is normally right but i think he has been wrong on most of the video's i have seen.

I dont rate Khans footwork at all, his hands are faster than Maidanas (but significantly less powerful). Apart from fast jabs, I dont see him as being very technically gifted (he has nothing much apart from speed, and better punch variety that Maidana doesnt have...he is flat and heavy footed, his footwork is predictable and not very fast...his gaurd is higher under Roach but his head movent is still practically non exsistant. He took a fair few clean shots from featherfisted Paulie, and even one of those from Maidana will result in....

Khan is in real danger in this fight, I cant see him not getting hit for 12 rounds, and if he manages it, it'll be more negative and boring than Haye vs Valuev

I think Margo has a good shot at beating Pac, but think Marquez is too good for Katsidis.

People said the same about Kotelnik and he never got close enough to do any damage to Amir. Kotelnik was faster than Maidana (and had just beaten him, in fact) and much better technically. He turns his punches over, has great timing and gets in position very well.

But Khan's footwork since working with Freddy Roach is fantastic. He gets in and out, keeps in position to fire off long shots and, as soon as his opponent is hurt, he plants his feet to land hard shots.

If anything, Khan's issue is how he isn't that accurate. He looked sloppy more than a few times against Malignaggi. But Paulie at least tries to move. Maidana will eat jab-straights all night.

Maidana is poor. Easy Win for Khan and I could even see him getting the stoppage. Khans power is underated, he throws stiff shots!!!

Maidana only had a month to train against corley and he was coming off a bit of a layoff moreover corleys a southpaw and has some skills dispite being 36 and way past it.

Nothing wrong with that. All logic points to a Maidana KO.

A lot of people here are gonna look stupid when Khan gets KOd within a few rounds. It's going to be a demolition job. Seriously. You can tell why Team Khan & GBP didn't want this fight. To be fair to Amir himself, I think he has more balls than sense. He's going to be brutally KOd and it won't be pretty.
