Dwight Muhammad Qawi vs. Joe Calzaghe

Calzaghe would out box Qawi. Qawi was very short.

 

Qawi by extermination. Not even a competitive fight.

 

Qawi was a sawed off Joe Frazier basically. Too much power and relentless aggression for Calzaghe.

 

Little difference in reach though. Qawi had long arms for someone his height, and he was often able to use his unusual physical attributes to his advantage. He had an excellent jab which came at an unusual angle due to his height and was very difficult to catch clean. Physically he was a beast at 175, but he was also much more than that. Prime Qawi showed more boxing skill than Calzaghe ever has done.

Calzaghe's exceptional stamina and intangibles are capable of overcoming better fighters on paper, but nothing in his career suggests he could cope with Qawi at this best.

 

calzaghe would only take the fight when qawi is 40something, so he has a chance of after being outboxed, using his lungpower to outwork him later on and get a life and death split decision.
joe then woops for joy over his win and proclaims that qawi was actually prime at 45 so this is his greatest achievement and worth way better than fighting prime froch or prime dawson.

if qawi is not 40something, gibbering joe runs in abject fear from such a match.

Qawi would beat him down.

 

Joe Calzaghe might be the most overrated fighter of the last quarter century. SMW is probably the most historically weak div. in boxing. Cal's best win is Kessler. Qawi would annihilate Joe.
