Qawi wins late stoppage, most likely on cuts..

Qawi was just a bad ass, a bulky guy who had a lust for combat...

    Good fight.

I really like Jerry in this. I never thought Qawi was anywhere near the force at cruiser as he was at lh. I think that nice left hook of Quarry lands and scores the points. Late stoppage on cuts or swelling or decision. Dwight just a step slow at this weight to catch the guy and get him out of there.

I agree. When I saw this matchup. I thought, 'Wow!' But then I saw the weights listed and I remembered how paunchy and slower Dwight was at this weight. It would be interesting for a few rounds until Quarry starts to lower the boom.

Dwight Made a Virtue of his compactness at 175lb at Cruiser he was still a handfull, but like as man wearing two invisible overcoats, Against a Quarry who is Bigger but still compact by heavyweight standards, Can Box, but more importantly can Rumble on the inside Fiercely, Look at the first four rounds that he Laid on Frazier in the first fight... i Dont think Q awi will be coming through that type of protratedted Barrage Jerry if Fired Up...Before Half way.

Quarry, 13th round stoppage, a bit too much for Qawi.

I think Quarrey would win. Dwight was much better at 175lbs. Quarrey was used to taking a heavyweight punch. Dwight didn't pack the punch to hurt him. I think Jerry outworks him for a close decision.

I can't see too many light heavyweight - cruiser weight types beating Jerry Quarry. Michael Spinks, Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, and a young Evander are about the only ones that I'd favor over him and some of those might even result in some close fights. Qawi was great at what he did and a nightmare for anyone under 195. But Jerry would have a serious advantage and might even be able to counter off of Dwight's advances.
