Incidentally, here's an overweight Qawi fighting Foreman:

PUH-LEASE! Klit batters a GAME Qawi into submission by rd. 6.... Qawi bobs and weaves well at 190, but has no firepower to halt whatever Klit tries to do...

Qawi was a phenomenal defensive fighter. (How else do you suppose he could get away with using his mouth to breathe all those years without getting his jaw fractured while on the front foot?) Great counter jab (possibly the best of his era), and as consistent and focused as anybody in keeping his lead foot between his opponent's feet. (This tactic can really split a defense, creating all kinds of openings, and cut off retreat.) Ike was a stylistic nightmare in top condition, and handled himself rather well when aged and badly overweight against the lightest Foreman of George's second career. Qawi is one of those sub heavyweight champions who actually does match up well stylistically with many historical heavyweights. (A peak Ali would decision Ike cleanly, but be miserable in the process.)

Foreman's skills were gross in 1988 against Qawi, but his weight of 235 was good and his chin was still solid... Qawi was in poor shape at 222 gross pounds, however, he still had a heart of gold...

I wish I had a clear / clean copy off ESPN but I don't... I got some okay footage at best... I missed the '88 PPV because I had no clue it was on... The promotion sucked balls.... Qawi earned 50k for the beating... I'm not sure what Foreman's final take was.... Cheerio....

Mismatch. As good, if not great, as Qawi was at LH and cruiser, Vitali is going to be more than a foot taller than him. It's really no contest, even though Dwight is the more skilled of the two. There are probably some very talented fourth-graders that are more skilled than me, but I'd still kick their asses on size alone.

It's a different set of skills, each in accordance to their assets. If Vitali tried to fight Qawi's fight, it would negate the physical advantages he brings into a ring. Vitali actually fights quite brilliantly with his strength, height and reach. He maximizes these assets. For some reason, people want to see these giants do unnecessary shuck and jive **** like Walcott, or they want to see them infight like Bowe, even tho that tactic cost him his defense... and probably just his sense.

Qawi at Cruiserweight would make Vitali's pawing jab miss often with his headmovement, but he wouldn't have the power to hurt VK, so ultimately he'd be worn down & stopped late.

The overweight 222lbs Qawi who fought Old Foreman is a bit underrated, i saw him rock the iron-chinned Old George a few times, so i think he'd have enough power to hurt anyone. However, his headmovement & footwork speed were too slow at this weight, thus he wouldn't be able to slip the jab & close the distance much. Vitali by late stoppage.
