Qawi is a great fighter for mine and would invariably give a fine account of himself. I like Patterson here, i think his lightning fast hands will bother Dwight and Patterson carries immense power for his weight. I don't know that Dwight carries enough punch and i think Pattersons offensive danger won't allow Dwight to build up enough of a sustained attack to grind him down.

    Decision, late TKO?

At 175lbs, probably Qawi, at 190lbs probably Patterson.

Patterson isn’t gonna be outjabbing him from range, he’s probably gonna go at Qawi, and Qawi is more dynamic in the pocket, he has more ways of making you fall onto counters, and had an excellent punch selection, and was brilliant at setting up punches over the top.

That uppercut would work for him here, the shoulder roll as Patterson opens up square on, and he’d be able to have success using that to counter.

Patterson may be able to open up that shell with blistering speed at times, but I just believe Qawi has a bit more variety with his skill in the pocket/mid-range. He can measure you and line you up, he can lead with any punch, he can create angles, he was great at opening up opportunities and being creative with his offence, and he was creative with using his defence to set up his offence.

In general, I feel he was that bit more creative than Paterson IMO, and that’s ultimately what it’d come down to with them inevitably being in the pocket. If Patterson had better long range fundamentals like Harold Johnson for example, I’d say he probably wouldn’t need to be super creative, but he doesn’t have that to enough of a degree to be able to rely on it against Qawi.

Floyd's speed and power would win him this
Maybe a late ko in an exciting fight.

I have Patterson winning in a very hard fought fun fight. Patterson's speed and quicker combos gets the better of Qawi.

Wow. A fight I've never joined the dots to make. What a banger this would be. Floyd by clear but competitive decision. Floyd is criminally underrated because of the nature of three of his defeats...
