A significant part of his logic is based of the short hatton fight. I was thinking nah, manny just beat his ass and their was nothing else to see in that fight. However you cant deny that hatton who is a much smaller fighter than margarito was able to chase pacquiao to the ropes. Pacquiao did escape from the ropes fairly easily but he still went their. Margarito's whole gameplan is to come forward and push people to the ropes. When he got spanked by shane, shane muscled him on the inside and took his stamina away first. He basically outfought him. Shane was stronger, faster and could take a better punch. He got to the target first and held. Manny pacquiao does not hold and will not fight an entire fight backing up.

I just dont see a 150lb pacquiao muscling or damaging a near 170lb margarito come fight night. One thing ive always said about margarito is that if he can take your shots your usually in for a long gruelling fight. I just cant get the image out of my mind of him walking through cotto who is bigger than pacquiao. What if pacquiao cant effect margarito with his punches? I see this fight resembling oscar vs pac with pac being too quick for margarito and continuouly beating him to the punch.

Dwyer overrates margarito and hattons performance, he also sees pac the same guy who fought marquez. I agree with a lot of what he says normally but not this fight.

He's not factoring in the fact that this is a company fight, and it is best for the company if Paq wins. Margarito owes everything to Bob Arum and Top Rank.

I'm a Dwyer fan because he's great at describing the styles of two opponents. A lot of times, I don't agree with his prediction but he's got good arguments all the times because he's an intelligent guy.

However, there are fighters he simply loves too much. Chad Dawson and Sergio Martinez being great exemples. I think that Dwyer overrates Margarito because he won against Martinez long ago. I do agree tough that it could turn ugly for Pacquiao.

its better if margarito wins, then arum could make in house rematches with cotto and clottey and make a fortune. also rematches with williams and martinez are possible, floyd will suddenly find his urge perhaps if margarito wins. Pacquiao is almost done anyway maybe 1/2 more fights, instead of doing 40 mil vs floyd the fight would do 30 something after margarito lose and floyd will have the balls to fight a beaten shot pacquiao.
SO when you think about is there is more money to be made with an inhouse fight that goes to margarito. also rematch with pac is possible.
That biased towords mexican judges are getting appointed for the fight also worries me.

dwyer loves fighters who can adapt, thats why dawson, martinez and especially mayweather seem to be his favourite fighters, on the other hand he thinks of cotto as total ****.

Have you looked at the video ? Dwyer talk about how Arum loves to make his fighters fight each other. However, he talks about how Pac shouldn't have listen to his entourage in this one because it's a High risk, low reward situation for him.

Edit : By the way I wasn't refering to this video, but to the one Dwyer posted a month or 2 ago.

That's a good point. Martinez is probably my favorite boxer at the moment but I wouldn't pick him to win against Mayweather and Bute like Dwyer.

Over the hill (Margarito) and shot (Rafa Marquez) is strangely missing from Dwyer's book which in rather odd considering he's pretty good at what he does.

Manny doesn't seem focused, and Margarito appears to be ready for the fight of his life.
Could this be a Buster Douglas moment?
There is a good reason that Mayweather blatantly ducked Margarito , and a possibly undermotivated Pac may find that out.

Dwyer always has the right approach when calling a fight. He doesnt always get it right but i bet that he gets more right calls than most.
Dwyer is my no.1 second opinion.

Interesting analysis as usual. The only reason I can't follow him down that road is that we don't know how much Margo has left. He's looked like **** in his last two fights. I don't think Team Pac would have taken this fight if this was the Margo of Cotto and like Roach said I've seen your last two fights. If Margo is anywhere close to that he was of the Cotto fight I would pick him in a heartbeat but I seriously doubt he is.

Hatton is also quicker footed than Margarito and even managed to close the distance on Mayweather.

And there are still a lot of questions regarding Margarito's handwraps.

Without those wraps, maybe his punches won't be nearly as effective. If you remember, Cotto outboxed him the majority of the fight, and only in the end was he run down and knocked out, but did Margarito use the wraps?

I'm expecting Margo to be just as good as he was in the Cotto fight but still think Pac will beat him in a tough fight.

the Pac that beat Cotto would beat the Margo that beat Cotto.

Cotto was pretty close to beating Margo and he is less durable than Pac, less quick, less accurate, worse defense, worse footwork, not as intelligent. The only thing Cotto has on Pac is power but Margo walked through it anyways so it didn't make a difference.
