He is a straight up fighter. Fight tall, 1-2, occasional hook. Hopkins could solve him in his sleep. The only reason why Wlad dominates is because he has such huge size advantages over his top contenders (Haye, Ibrag, Chambers). They almost lost before the fight started.

 I knew someone would bring up the tomato cans he beat who were "big". I'm talking about the top contenders. Ibrag, Chambers and Haye all were 30-40 lbs lighter at the weigh in. Peters is a midget standing next to Wlad. Tell me what other weight class offers such advantages.

Wlad is a disciplined fighter who uses his size advantages well but it doesn't change the fact that he has had huge size advantages when facing the other top contenders at his weight class.

It's hilarious some people take Dwyer's propaganda seriously and actually consider the viability of Hops or Tarver fighting and beating Wlad

It is what it is. Wlad has had huge size advantages over Chambers and Ibrag. A good 30 lbs on Haye. And about 6 inches of height on Peter. Yeah, the HW is unlimited but i would just like to see the playing field leveled out more. I know this is wishful thinking but again, it is what it is. When you have the top contenders in a weight class fighting each other, and one guy has 30-40 lbs and 5-6 inches on the other guy, we are talking about some serious advantages.

Weight is misleading because Wlad stays in tip top shape. How about you do one with HEIGHT? Wlad is 6'6".

But they fought in a strong era. All of Wlad's top wins were against guys much smaller than him. If this era was more stacked and some of the top contenders were actually close to Wlad's size, like Bowe and Lewis, it would be harder for me to be critical. But like i said, it is what it is. It's a weak era and most of the top guys are significantly smaller than Wlad.

And as i said before, please stop bringing up instances of C level fighters Wlad has beaten that were about similiar in size. That's a weak argument. Chambers and Haye beat much bigger men. What does that really mean when the man standing in front of them were far inferior in skill? When you have two elite fighters in the same division fighting and you have that large a size difference, then there is a problem.

And let me just add that Wlad is a very skilled fighter. There are a good number of guys his size that don't have the success he has had. It just makes me cringe when the top contenders he fights are so much smaller than him. And i know i can't change that. It is what it is.

Good post. Allow me to add that Joe Louis beat the living **** outta Primo Carnera who was roughly the size of the Klitschkos. That may or may not be the case if Joe Louis were to fight one of the bros because they're much better boxers than Carnera ever was.

Paul Williams enjoyed a big height advantage and an even bigger reach advantage against Martinez, how'd that work out for him?

Hopkins and Tarver are one my favorite fighters and even I say "no chance" to that.

And it's mainly because they are too old.

But I would give Hopkins the better chance at than Tarver.

Difference in skill. But he did beat a lot of guys using his superior height, reach, size for years. It's just when he truly stepped up in class, his weaknesses were exposed.

But he's really not. A straight up guy is like Kessler or Dimetrenko.

Wlad doesn't fit in that category. He's improved drastically and it showed in the Haye fight when Haye could rarely hit him and his confidence was gone by the 6th round.

Tarver had his chance, but saw what HW boxing was about vs a journeyman. He quickly decided CW was a better chance for glory. SOOOOO TRUE. 5 yrs late, but I always thought he'd look best as a CW.

BHOP........ALLLLLL TALK. The guy is a champ, tried and true, but he's NO RJJ in terms of slick and pure athetic ability.
