More proof that events exit in boxing folks. Don't fight it, embrace it.

I like the recognition the noble art of "eventing" is getting. But Dwyer needs to leave it to the professionals. We don't want somebody losing an eye.

Didn't steward Mention the EVT win last night, too? Between that comment and the Internet rumour he heard about Morales and Floyd fighting, pretty sure he's a regular on here.

That's true, I just appreciate that the idea is finally getting its warranted acceptance. The same way Einstein's intricate theory of relativity had trouble getting its acceptance. Both equally brilliant theories (Obviously). You're right, LancsTerrible. I don't discuss Einstein's workings as it's something I don't fully grasp because it's outside my expertise. Similarly, Dwyer should take note and do the same when it comes to eventing. At this stage, it appears he only grasps the art on a superficial level.

I do remember the Floyd comment, which was just strange to even note on for a professional commentator. That does sound exactly the way a regular here might commentate a Morales fight.

I am not sure if Steward mentioned the EVT win last night. It wouldn't surprise me, though. Eventing has garnered such momentum over the last year that I'm sure Steward is well aware and perhaps even equipped to spot an EVT when it is taking place. He must be, knowing full well that he snatched a few of them as he saw his own fighters hastily throw away the chance at capturing the EVT.

    Hold on Dr. Mo.

I tend to think the initial reaction is Molina won the EVT.

But all the noise and reaction is suggesting to me that Molina was winning the EVT, but then the ref, knowing full well he needed to something drastic in order capture the EVT, abruptly stole the EVT (Or attempted to steal the EVT). At the very least it has called into question who or whom the actually winner of such an EVT was.

I think The Main Event Mafia might need to do further investigation before it can officially declare who actually won the EVT. We can't be hasty and overlook this one. I know our due diligence will see through with the rightful outcome to this event. :deal

This is an excellent point. I've long been an advocate of the idea that refs can steal events, with Joe Cortez being the clear GOAT at this tactic.

What a quality thread on the noble art of eventing this is. I was thinking "Wow, what a terrific event this was" as I was watching the fight last night so I'm overjoyed that so many esteemed members of ESB have bought it up.

Arthur Mercanter Jr is also one of the best EVT winning refs around today. His Cotto-Foreman reffing wasn't even an event steal, but a consistent event win throughout.

It's sad when people start using jokes like "winning the event" in a non-satirical manner.

A perceptive post Pete, I did think that ref was trying to steal the show last night.
His name is Jon Schorle & I had a brief glimpse at a fight of his from earlier this year.
I think he's been trying to win an event for a while :-(
