Why is Solis a Cuban defector with a golden oppurtunity, a talented up and comer, so damn fat?

also why would the Cubans send Savon instead of him after he bear Savon in the AMs, could it be that Solis is a lazy skilled cat with Charecter issues?

They send Savon to the 2000 Olympics instead of Solis because Savon already had 2 Gold medals and they were looking for a 3rd gold , only 2 other boxers had 3 Gold medals at that time : Teofilo Stevenson ( H.W ) from Cuba and Lazlo Papp from Hungary , also Savon was in his thirties and Solis was only 20 years old, he could wait another 4 years , btw Savon won the gold , IMO.
