Yuto Shimizu looks like he needs a good sized meal, he's one of those tall, wide guys with nothing on his frame, Bellamy at 37 is 7 years older than Shimizu and it was the local who got the louder reception from the Korakuen Hall...and is about a foot taller than Bellamy

1-Bellamy pressing the action and rocks the taller man in the first 90 seconds, the power shots are all from Bellamy and Shimizu is fighting like a man throw "stay away from me" shots rather than showing any conviction in his work

2-Pressure continues from Bellamy, who looks far better than he did last I saw him, constant pressure and Shimizu really struggling to cope with it, a huge overhand right from Bellamy, Shimizu with a good right hand, and it does seem like Shimizu has grown a lil in confidence, he's still being backed up as and when Bellamy applies his pressure, good body shot by Bellamy, a good body shot from Shimizu, Bellamy not really working his way in - jost walking in and shooting hooks, but supremely confident!

3-More pressure from Bellamy, Shimizu fighting the pressure off a little more but still forced to eat huge hooks, more variety in Shimizu's work but the hooks of Bellamy are the more eye catching shots, good little flurry from Shimizu, Bellamy backed on to the ropes! Shimizu unloads. We have a fight right now and the hall has erupted! lovely combination from Shimizu! And another 3 punch burst.

    Shimizu round!

4-Bellamy still as confident as ever with his pressure and lands a good body shot, Shimizu firing off with more consistency and a higher work rate, Bellamy's tactic of "just walk the lanky guy down" probably needs a tweak, huge head shots from Shimizu! Bellamy fires back, and Shimizu responds with a body shot, a right hand from Bellamy, and another, Shimizu boxing off the back foot and landing some great counters to begin combinations, "You-Toh" chant

5-Bellamy has one game plan and he will stick with it come hell or high water, Shimizu jabbing and moving and trying to counter when Bellamy lunges in, making for some really interesting action right now, both land a big right, a huge uppercut from Shimizu, Bellamy taking everything REALLY well, another combination from Shimizu, Shimizu tagged and he's holding on, think he was hurt at last! Bellamy swinging for the home run but misses,

6-Bellamy trying to build on his work from the end of round 5, big body shot, Shimizu backing up, body shot from Shimizu, a left hook from Bellamy snaps back the head of Shimizu, body shot from Bellamy, a good left hand from Shimizu but he's still being backed up, a right hand by Shimizu, a left hook seemed to stiff Shimizu's legs, a big straight on the bell by Shimizu

The left hook seems to be a better weapon for Bellamy than his right hand

7-Good clean shots from Shimizu getting through but he can't discourage Bellamy, body shot from Bellamy, jab jab straight from Shimizu, body shot from Bellamy, they trade and Shimizu is forced to hold Bellamy, Bellamy just walks into range, and again, a good left hook from Shimizu and body shots from Bellamy, Shimizu with a nice flurry on the bell but feel he needs a huge final round round

8-Bellamy pressing the action straight off, Shimizu lands a left hook but takes one in return, Bellamy doesn't appear to understand there can be more than just hooks in his arsenal, Shimizu holds as Bellamy continues his pressurised assault, headshots from Bellamy as they momentarily trade.

This reminds me of the fights where they have a local prospect against a Filipino puncher, with the puncher being basic as all hell, but strong and powerful, whilst the prospect is well school but can't hit hard enough to make the visitor back off....usually to win those the visitor needs a KO... think Charlie should get the W here though

    Bellamy
    Shimizu
    ....Bellamy! Split decision winner!

If this ends with a technical draw the JBC probably consider Seppuku for the shame the Japanese Bantamweight title has brought in 2018

1-Kikuchi looks much taller and rangier than Saito and is clearly wanting to keep this at range with his jab, a tactic that's working in the first minute, Saito trying to jab with him but his first major connect is a right hand, and another, and a third and a fourth, he can't miss with it, the jabs of Kikuchi are making Saito's face already but the right hands of Saito look to be a lot harder and he rocks the taller man, jab-right from Saito, and a left hook from Saito, both land a right hand but Saito's has the more zing on it, a left hook from Saito! Saito bringing the pressure hard late on

Holy **** what a great opening round!

2-Saito keeping the pressure up and Kikuchi trying to respond with shots, Saito won't back off and a left lands clean, another hook, and another rocks Kikuchi! Kikuchi trying to fight to create space but Saito is too strong and walking him down, uppercut from Kikuchi and a hook from Saito, uppercut from Saito, he's unloading, HUGE FLURRY from Saito with Kikuchi on the ropes! He can't escape! 45 seconds left, and now Kikuchi fires back! Saito fires off and rocks Kikuchi, referee steps in

Look a lil early, but Kikuchi never responded well to the power of Saito!

Awesome but short bout to end that ****ing curse!

Saito will have Keita Kurihara among others chasing him for a shot now :D
