Dzinziruk-Angulo in the works The WBO has ordered a very attractive jr. middleweight championship bout between champion Sergij Dzinziruk and interim champion Alfredo Angulo. Promoters for fighters have been given 15 days to reach an agreement or the bout will go to purse bid (minimum bid is $200,000). Angulo is promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and Dzinziruk is promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and Banner Promotions. May 21st, 2010 According to fightnews just yesterday this fight could happen. The hinderance i would think is that both guys are promoted by shaw and even though angulo is defeated once he still brings in the crowds because of his crowd pleasing style. Angulo is the mando for sergej's WBO title, but is shaw willing to risk angulo losing again to boost a guy like sergej who might not be as easy to draw? Might be bad biz if you ask me, but a fight I and others on here would like to see for sure.
Angulo has Alcine scheduled in July. But it would be smart for him to drop the Alcine fight which we all know he would win anyway, if he could get a crack at Dzinziruk which would probably be a fun scrap. I see Dzinziruk outboxing Angulo in a close fight, in which Angulo will probably put Dzinziruk down once or twice. But if Angulo can get out boxed by Krybaby Cintron he can get outboxed by Dzin, who I think is a better boxer than Cintron.
that fight wont happen angulo has alcine in july on hbo and both are promoted by shaw no way he'l put his too good junior midles in the ring against each other just yet he probabley thinks both will clear up the division and in the end will fight each other and he as the sole promoter will make all the money. i reckon angulo will fight cotto at the years end after they both win there next fights and dzinziruk will fight the green/martirosyan winner
I´m glad for Sergej to finally get some good fights and recognition. F*ck Universum for hiding him for so long.
Exactly what I think, minus the knockdowns. Dzinziruk will stay in the clear. Really excited for this fight.
