Dzinziruk/Collazo not happening

    According to fightnews, luis collazo says that he wants a tune-up fight
    at the new weight after being inactive for the better part of a year before
    stepping into a fight of such magnitude. His words, not mine.

    It seems that jumping ship w/ universum and taking the risk w/ shaw hasn't paid off for the ukrainian. He could be fighting in germany against
    WBO mandatories and still be getting paid a decent living, but it now seems that the "razor" might go broke waiting for anybody with half a name to grow a pair and fight him. Angulo and now collazo want no part of
    sergei.....................and he holds a world title.

    angulo should take the fight, he probably wont cuz he's a puss

    Angulo is not ducking him. Shaw controls both guys and refuses to put them in against each other.

    They should be able to find someone else decent to make a fight with Dzinziruk. Mayorga's supposedly on the table now. I'm sure Latimore would love another title shot. A Konecny rematch would be fun if HBO doesn't mind running a rematch of a great fight between no-names.

    Paul Williams is or atleast was the interim WBO for a long time

    How come he never challenged

    Id love to see Mayorga get another shot

    I spoke to Luis two months ago and he isnt fighting this year, he wants cotto. but his contract with DOn King expires at years end and hes looking for the highest bidder. Goldenboy has said they would look into colazo

    I'm surprised at Collazo - does he really have that many options?

    I doubt he's got an abundance of big-money fights in his future - if you're in his position and you're offered a fight like this, you take it.

    If Dzinziruk beats a name fighter in the interim, does he even need to give Collazo another chance?

    First Collazo doesn't want the fight with Selcuk Aydin and now he won't fight Dzinziruk?
    Not looking too good for him.... regardless of the excuse.

    I'd be disappointed for both if that's the case...oh well, on to the next guy for Dzin. Hopefully he gets a shot at at least one big fight before he's totally past his prime.

    They tried really hard to make Williams-Dzinziruk happen, and Universum turned it down. Then he tried to make a unification fight with Spinks and Universum blocked that too. That's why Dzinziruk split with Universum.
