That mando isn't due for a year. Williams already said he wants the fight, and his team already contacted Dzinziruk's team about a fight. There's not much Williams can do at this point.
I agree with you 100%. I have mad respect for Abraham, he does what a great deal of Euro fighters are afraid to do, put his money where his mouth is, in his prime. Back on topic, I feel for Paul Williams. Nobody at LMW wants to fight him now, I thought Vernon would give him a shot, but he is ducking out too.
They don't have too, but no one said they did. If they want to be recognized as one of the best in the world, some day they are going to have to fight on the big stage against bigger fish. If Dzinziruk wants to make money, fine, stay in Germany fight nobodies and pocket cash. If he wants to call himself the greatest lmw he is going to have to fight better fighters and the other champs in the division. It has already been said that the guy wants to fight in the US and against Paul Williams, he knows in saying that he is going to have to take a paycut and will make less than Paul because Paul is the draw in the US. If he didn't know that, he is stupid. My thoughts are he just called Williams out to get his name in the air.
he should take the pay cut....after he puts Paul to sleep on HBO there will be lots more money to be made
because all it takes is one big win and everyone else comes to your backyard or they pay you much more to come to the states next time...but you have to take that risk once in a while...or just once.....
So what offer has SD's team made to PW for this fight? Since, you know, they want to fight him so badly...
Possibly, but from what I've heard Dzinziruk doesn't make much in Germany since he's not much of a draw. He's usually an undercard fighter, despite being a beltholder. In certain circumstances I'd agree, but for this fight the money is in the US, not in Germany. Both fighters would make more if it's stateside than in Germany. Also, Williams should theoretically have more big money options than Dzinziruk. If Dzinziruk doesn't like his offer, he can make the same offer to a number of other guys who are just as highly ranked in the weight class and where the fight is easy to make because they'd get major US tv exposure. I don't think Dzinziruk can say the same. He can try to get a Santos rematch, but that's about it. It's not like the best fighters at 154 at the moment are based out of Europe, other than Dzinziruk.
the way i see it there are 2 scenarios. Right now, Dzin is the champ and PW is the mandatory challenger. Unless Sergiy relinquishes his title, then Paul Williams is the one avoiding Dzinziruk
The challenger can't avoid the champ. The challenger is under no obligation to fight the champ. Only the champ can avoid. Furthermore, Williams is the one who fought for the interim title, Williams is the one who called out Dzinziruk, and Williams' team are the ones who initiated talks for a fight between the two. The ball is in Dzinzruk's court. Unless Williams turns down a reasonable offer, team Dzinziruk is at fault for this fight not getting made.
LOL...it could be interpreted that way if you were sergi or his camp who just wanted to use Pauls Name and current level of popularity to get his name out there. I doubt Sergi ever really wanted to fight Paul...if he did even if if was short money, Paul has the title Sergi doesn't. The opportunity itself should be enough to get Sergi amped enough to take the fight. It's not like Sergi is DLH or PAC....its not like the he's use to 8 figure fights....so I'm sure the offer was adequet enough if Sergi was serious....all signs point to they were not!
WTF are you talking about!? Pav's situation and Sergi's situation are light years apart! Sergi brings NOTHING to the table...or at least not a name...nothign but a body. PAV was the MW champion...Paul was the WW champion...the fight would have been a big event had it come off but both men are young champions who's popularity levels were on a high....both men wanted the lions share.... PAUL deserves the lions share against Sergi....against PAV that is debatable. No comparision using this situation.
If the challenger is the mandatory and refuses to enforce his position as mandatory challenger, then you don't think he is avoiding him? I mean Paul Williams has done public saying he wants the fight. now he has Sergiy cornered. Sergiy has no choice but to fight Paul Williams or get stripped of the title. If the fight doesn't happen and Sergiy does not get stripped, then its safe to assume Paul Williams wasn't serious about wanting the fight.
