    Thanks for the heads up on the clip. You’re right, not easy to pick between the two. I checked a photo of Edwards so I’d put money on the guy in the right hand corner and he also actually seems to be the skilled fighter easily getting the better of the “unknown” fodder. If I’m wrong, apologies to Mr Edwards and his descendants for a major faux pas.

    So Edwards, being born 1844, is about 50/51 yo. I read that he died of Bright’s disease, the same kidney condition that took down Billy Miske.

    I saw that there was talk in 2013 of a biopic being made on Miske but it appears it didn’t come to fruition. Too bad, his life is one incredible story.

    There’s lots of great photos of Jem Mace through his lifetime (1831 - 1910), including the shot sitting beside Sam Langford.

    You’d think he might’ve been at least caught on film in his older years but I couldn’t find anything - I would’ve guessed that even just a snippet might’ve been out there.
