I've run across an early pre-UFC, pre-Pancrase match between Ken Shamrock and Masa Funaki on Youtube. This was conducted under the early shoot fighting rules that Pancrase later used to great effect.

My question to you is do you think this is a real match or is it a work with a predeterminded ending?

Check it out and decide for yourself.

The ending is a bit of a giveaway as well - but they did a good job with it.

You mean, is it acting? Yes it is.

Acting fans use terms like work to cover the fact that "pro wrestling" is just a few actors putting on a show, no different than a jackie chan movie in practice.
