    Jack Dempsey
    Roberto Duran
    George Foreman
    Mike Tyson

Which of these champions was the best at coming out for the opening round like their double parked? Who was most likley to put your lights out early?
What other champions/contenders were forces of nature in the opening rounds?

    Dempsey and Tyson.

Foreman might have been a bigger puncher than both of them but Dempsey and Tyson went out to destroy from the opening bell and Tyson had that speed to go with his power that was just a lethal combination.

Duran maybe when he was younger but he didn't automatically come out to take a guy's head off every time. With Dempsey and Tyson, that was what they intended each time they stepped into the ring.

Gerald McClellan always looked for the KO in the opening bell.
Aaron Pryor also came right after his opponent once the fight starts.

Aaron Pryor deserves a mention, as does Jeff Fenech.

    Shanon Briggs
    Cleveland Williams (kinda)
    Peter Maher
    John L Sullivan
    Tommy Morrison
    Gerald McClellan

Unsurprisingly, there's a correlation between explosiveness and early round knockouts.

Tyson had the world record for the most 1st round KO`s back in 1992, when there was an article written about him stating that he had inflicted 21 KO`s in the 1st round by `92.

Briggs couldn`t pressure a guy early like a great counter/pressure fighter like Tyson did.

I feel McClellanmade a mistake trying too hard to knock Benn out early, even though he nearlty did, he had no plan B when he couldn`t finish Benn.

McClellan was already experiencing head injuries before the Benn fight and was still winning the fight before it finally took its toll. I think had that fight taken place today chances are it would have been stopped the moment Benn went out of the ring. McClellan was just a nasty killer in the ring who was always a dangerous man in the early rounds.

Um... what does that have to do with Fighting Harada?

Also Tyson does not have the record for first round kos. He didn't have back in '92 either. Dempsey had 25, and isn't even the record holder. Briggs had 33 or thereabouts. Peter maher has 45, the record.
