With Shavers now winning by 4 votes in Fergy's current thread and having won the same poll even in General at the end of last year it is time to recognize ESB's undisputed king of power.

I will repost the list of quotes i put up many years ago in an old thread for the enjoyment of current members to get some well deserved Acorn love rolling. The thread isn't one for debate, the fat lady has sung and is on her way back home for a well deserved rest. The time is for recognition of all things Earnie, power at the forefront.

That motherf*cker hit so hard, he'll bring back tomorow. He hit me so hard, I thought I was on the corner smoking cigarette and eating a spam sandwich. That's how hard that motherf*cker hit."

Here's Leroy Caldwell's impressions of Shaver's, Foreman and Lyle. Well worth the listen.

Earnie Shavers would be considered a featherfist nowadays.

    Great thread.

Side note: Earnie Shavers failed to stop anyone mentioned so far in this thread.

And Ali said everyone shook his kin folks in Africa, even Marciano, after their "fake" fight where they pulled all their punches.

In all seriousness he's also my number 1. My number 2 and 3 are Wilder and Baer respectively. Whatever order floats my boat though.

I'm tempted to demand that my entry be added to the honor roll.

More seriously: We should really assemble all of the sources of these quotes into one place.

I'm trying to assemble other quotes from the likes of Lyle, Young, Polite and others to this thread. I'm sure we had heaps years ago but am struggling, so far, to find them.
