A fantastic amount of footage of both a great amount of both personal interviews & fight highlights.

The Shaver's effect TM was something to behold... Very similar to what Julian Jackson would do to fighters years later with his own shots. The effect he had on fighters that he hit, he completely stole the equilibrium of his opponents no matter how hard they fought, completely separated them from their respective senses. Truly a legendary puncher, I think there's more than enough footage available of him against both good & bad opponents to make an educated placement on his power.

    Enjoy!

I always enjoyed Earnie as an exciting fighter, and for a heavyweight who usaully fought at the 200-210 range he could hit like a mule. Losses against Bob Stalling & not being able to stop former lightheavy Champ Vincente Rondon (who was KO'd by Bob Foster in 2, & KO'd by middleweight Bennie Briscoe among others made me question his class as a puncher but not his power but execution.

I was ringside for his fight against Ellis & the punch seemed like it lifted Jimmy off the ground just when Jimmy had Shavers hurt. I then had ringside for Quarry -Shavers MSG NYC & this time Quarry ended it in one but both 1-round fights were worth the money because my adreneline. Later when I saw Ali vs Shavers in MSG NYC I bought into Ali's leg shaking antics & thought he was faking the stagger but the staggers were real.

Shavers gassed & left himself open & lost the battle of attrition a few times but he always fought with heart. REMEMBER Earnie was only 6" foot even & under 210 for most of his prime fights & fought bigger men succesfully.

If I could change anything to improve Earnie & would try & conserve energy because he loaded up a lot but as a fan he always gave me my moneys worth.

Earnie is a blessed man with a strong family & I heard he became a christian preacher. God Bless you Earnie & thanks for the action

I went to some of Earnie's fights in the 70's, mostly small regional type fight cards. Most were against third tier guys and Shavers just slaughtered them. When he landed in those small venue's, it literally sounded like a gunshot. Just who doesn't mind watching and experiencing that stuff?

Watching truly big punchers in action is always a tremendous and interesting event, it's one of the facets of heavyweight boxing that make it so enduring and popular.

Yep. They don't win them all, but they really are a promoter's dream. Sure may not be much left for the poor guy getting slaughtered. Imagine getting chump change to step up a ton and having to face Shavers........

Earnie Shavers has always seemed like a very good, decent man. I read where he went to Jerry Quarry's funeral. I hope that he'll turn out to be truly blessed in his life...with his health intact.

I like the bombs Earnie was throwing after Holmes got up from the knockdown. Too bad one of them didn't land:ARMS1:
