We'll agree to disagree on that one. Look at what power Wilder sports at 215 even.

He never carried his power into the later rounds...I don't think he had a KO past the 7th round.

Oh, I don't doubt he could hit harder than a lot of guys substantially bigger than him, but he never showed the type of ludicrous power that someone like Tua had, for instance. Great puncher though. Very naturally heavy hands.

The Wilder point is apt, and one of the reasons I'm more complimentary of historically smaller heavyweights in discussions like these.

He KOed Roy Tiger Williams in the tenth round. He was still able to rock Ali well after the seventh, and in fact could be said to have had his best rounds in the second half of the fight. His power did drop off in certain fights, generally due to blowing his load looking for an early knockout, but if he paced himself he could hit hard throughout the course of a fight.

We had the Tillis KD too and he did almost decapitate Holmes in the 7th.

I'm glad people are still enjoying this one. Couldn't believe it wasn't available online before this, honestly. Quality video.

Well, you know, he was definitely something of a glorified arm puncher but he could put some mustard into his blows now and again.

Oh, so highlight videos suddenly aren't all the rage and the most highly watched boxing videos on Youtube?

Yes, I'd say he was a better boxer than Foreman as well. His jab wasn't as authoritative, and he tended to fall into sloppy habits now and again, which led to fighters capitalising on his mistakes more often, but technically on offence he was a lot tighter and sharper, with faster hands and a more varied assault that broke fighters down in a more efficient manner than Foreman's blunt force trauma approach.

Ironically, I'd actually say that Shavers wasn't as heavy a puncher as Foreman, or rather he lacked the raw power that Foreman possessed.
