Basically whoever lands first.I could see Morrison landing that hook.He did throw it with pretty good speed.
I could also see Shavers drilling Morrison with that righthand as well.
I can tell you this bout wouldn't go 4 rounds.
I'm actually leaning towards Morrison based on I believe Morrison has the quicker hands!

shavers had a left hand and a right
morrison only had a left hook...though his left hook is pure davastation in a five finger sandwich

I never checked out any of Morrison's amateur bouts, but for three rounds he's hell as a pro.

I don't think that Shavers' will ever receive his 4th round wake up call. Morrison in 2.

Shavers was the better all round fighter and has had more worldclass experience. So Shavers inside 5

    I'd take Morrison, honestly.

Stupidly accurate with his power shots early on, and capable of stringing together good combinations.

Coupled with his power, I think that's enough against Earnie's meh chin.

Both men had the ability to send the other to kingdom come. Both men were relatively fast starters to, or at least for the most part. Morrison was a south paw who could get on top of a lot of guys early and deck them with lethal left hooks. Quarry had a great left hook to and was able to launch an attack on Shavers early. Therfore, I might be inclined to picking Morrison. Of course, Mercer got him out early, but only after taking Tommy's full arsenal for 5 rounds-something that Shavers couldn't do. If Earnie manages to land early, then he beats Morrison, but given their styles and Morrison's deadliness in the early rounds, I'd have to pick the duke.

Question: did both have good power? Answer: Yep

Might just depend on who lands their best shot on the other first as neither were that great beyond the power aspect.

I'll base the win on who I think hit harder... drum roll please.... Shavers.

I have seen Morrison get blown out in 1 by Bent and I have seen Shavers get blown out in 1 by Quarry, both were not great in the chin DEPO but Morrison could box a bit when he was in top form, he did it vs Foreman and Rudduck, I would not be suprised by any ending here but I think both men would be prepared and in top form and that being the case give Tommy the edge in stamina for a 8th rd stop because Earnie was not as much of a devestated puncher when he moved up in class
