I think he might win 4 out of 6, maybe 5?

He beats all of them, and I'd give him a 50/50 chance with the current crop of Heavy "Champions".

I reckon so myself, wonder how David Haye would tackle him ?
Try a fast ko or go on the defensive.

He loses to Ibragimov and Brewster for sure. A prime Peter probably gets him, too.

Thanks for the laugh...gosh people forget Shavers had a weak chin and severe stamina issues. He lost often as a result. 195lb Quarry destroyed him in 1, 20-24 Bob stalling knocked him down and beat him up, he got knocked out by Ron standee, his stamina issues cost him vs Lyle and Mercado

Anthony Joshua would absolutely destroy shavers..and if Fury gets himself back to 2015 shape, he would clown shavers..wilder would outlast shavers and brutally knock him out

Brew and Iggy beat him. He defeats the rest.

Big Earnie would be tiny Earnie against some of those guys. He was only 210 in his prime, and could have competed at cruiserweight with a bit of boiling down. In answer to the question:

Samuel Peter: Peter destroys him in a wild shootout where Shavers's lack of punch resistance leads to him getting bombed out early. Peter could take a hellacious shot and dish one out just as hard.

Chris Arreola: tough one. Arreola might get dropped, but I think he gets back up and takes Shavers out a few rounds later. Honestly, I think Arreola sucks, but he was tough and game, and might have what it takes to weather Shavers's attacks and force a stoppage. Guys of a similar calibre did the same.

Sultan Ibragimov: Iggy outboxes him with ease and blisters him with his handspeed. Might even get a stoppage at some point.

Shannon Briggs: another tough one. Briggs blew hot and cold and was stopped in his prime but a relatively untested and underwhelming Darroll Wilson. Could see Earnie pulling this one off, but could equally see him going down early to a vicious Briggs assault.

David Haye: I'd love to see Shavers knock Haye's head off. That's all I'll say about that.

Lamon Brewster: Brewster wins in another wild shootout that has both fighters on the deck but the game Brewster coming back to finish an exhausted Shavers that has thrown everything at him but failed to get him out of there.

A prime Wlad threw everything he had at Brewster and failed to stop him. What do you expect Shavers to be able to do?

Sultan might outbox him and win, the others would be carried out of the ring. Shavers lack of chin and stamina is greatly exaggerared on this forum. I thought he beat the crap out of Ali for 15 rds.

If you really think beating Ali at that stage of his career was that much of a big deal then you're beyond help. The fact he was HW champ at that stage displays that the era is overrated. It's one of the strongest we had, but it's greatly exaggerated these days.

Shavers beats Arreola, I'd expect Brewster to beat him and Ibragimov to do the same. Peter, Haye and Briggs might be who lands first type of affairs, you could make a case for both sides of the coin for these three, but it's more likely he goes 0-3 than going 3-0

Shavers beating the crap out of Ali says more about that version of Ali than it does about Shavers. And the fact he wasn't able to drop him once says a lot about Shavers's rather exaggerated punching power as well.

I think Brewster and Peter are obvious picks to beat him. I think Shavers vs Brewster looks a lot like Shavers vs Ron Lyle, with Brewster maybe hitting the deck, getting up and taking Shavers apart. Peter I think walks through whatever Shavers throws at him and bombs him out quick. There's no way I can see Shavers doing enough damage to Peter to force a stoppage before Peter has landed something huge.

First of all, no he didn't. It was a close but non controversial decision with shavers holding on for dear life in round 15.

Secondly, that was the same version of Ali who lost to Leon Spinks!
