Earnie Shavers vs Alexander Povetkin

I really like Alex in this. Within 5 rounds, at the most.

Much better chin of the two and hardly an easy guy to deal with. And Earnie always telegraphed. when he dips to launch a left uppercut will catch him and he'll never see it. Earnie will not absorb the punch well & he sure got the clumsies when he was hurt.

 

Povetkin

 

Povetkin is the better. But it would be interesting I think

 

Povetkin is levels above Shavers in his fundamentals IMO.

Oh boy I would have loved this ! Shavers was pure box office and when he hit them, by and large, they stayed hit. Problem is, he didn't do well in genuine fire fights. Look at the Quarry and Lyle fights.
Povetkin can be got too. Dear old David Price was one punch from starching him.
Povetkin inside 5 but he may have to get up to do it and we'd be talking about it for years.

 

Pov's old now though an Price can crack

 

Shavers only way of winning is KO/TKO, i don't see him getting a decision over Povetkin

 

Povetkin probably survives Earnie's best shots in the early rounds and stops him later on.
