Who takes it? I know lots of people will immediately pick Shavers based on Ruiz' KO by Tua. But remember, Ruiz was a skinny kid at the time, not at his peak. Could Earnie KO a prime Ruiz? What do you think?

Prime Ruiz out-operates this fool to a unanimous draw and retains.

Hopefully, John Ruiz gets knocked out or is disqualified in a bout with Earnie Shavers. Someone with Ruiz's fighting style does not belong in a boxing ring.

It's possible that Ruiz could be a spoiler again vs Shavers. Throw and miss with a roundhouse, headlock the opponent, wait for the ref to break, then repeat. Painful to watch, even for a boxing enthusiast.

Yeah, I still think Earnie would KO him. Ruiz wasn't a mover and would stand front of Shavers. Something heavy would hit him and down he'd go.

A century from now, Ruiz will be known as the face of heavyweight boxing.

    Pure genius.

Ruiz means "warrior of shadow" in Athabaskan.

    Just sayin'.

I'd like to say Shavers blows Ruiz outta there. But for some reason I see Ruiz spoiling his way and hugging Shavers to some sort of decision win.

Ruiz's subtle and masterful strategy of left, right, and grab for 12 rounds is far too much for Shavers to figure out.

Ruiz by majority decision when one judge falls asleep and has no idea what happened.
